Just spent 4 nights stopping in no. 26 and found the property to be excellent. It was very clean, warm and welcoming and the quality of fittings/furniture were first class. My son and I spent a lot of time in the pool which is approx. 20 yards from the property and there is lots to do and see in Whitby and the surrounding area. A really good short break and we'll definitely return.

Four adults shared a house for a long weekend in Whitby. Although difficult to find, it is well located for Whitby and there is a lovely walk into town across a nearby disused railway viaduct. Our cottage was clean, well stocked and presented. However, we could not get the television to work. The complex has a fine heated indoor pool, and the managers could not have been more helpful. Wi-fi is a new arrival and our cottage was just within range, although we did have to hang out of the window on a couple of occasions to get a signal. The bathroom was rather small (and cold!) and the house should really have had a separate, and/or second toilet. Good value.

We took an out of season break during Oct 2013. After reading the reviews I contacted Hoseason’s who confirmed we would be in number 8 on the lower level with views of the river. On arrival the reception staff was very welcoming pointing out all amenities & advice on local walks. Parking is right outside the door. The place was clean, compact, everything you needed but the decor is a little dated. Being 6ft 4” the shower was a squeeze under the slopping roof, not a complaint just an observation. We had a very enjoyable stay & walked over the bridge into Whitby on many occasions. The steam train passing several times a day was a joy to see. Watch out for the geese they think everyone is there to feed them. Lovely spot, will return.

Room Tip: When walking to Whitby take the route on the right with a fish on the sign after the bridge over the...

It was our first time stay and we read the reviews!
we arrived on 5th November for 4 night stay with our dog, yes there was fireworks but in the distance and a lot quieter than if we had been at home.
The cottage (no 8 ) was lovely, very clean and comfortable we loved it, well worth the travel time from Devon. Friendly ducks daily visited and geese! walks with the dog were great.
Salisbury supermarket just a short drive away but have to go into town if you want take away.
lots of places let you take your dog inside even found a fish and chip shop dogs allowed!
Only down fall was everything stops 31st October so no steam trains or access to Whitby Abbey best to do homework before your trip to find out whats open and whats shut.
Glad we read reviews but also glad we went to see for ourselves as we thought it very clean and being given your own key to use the pool was great!

We stayed in cottage no. 31 (swallow cottage) an upside down house. The cottage was very homely and was just what we wanted. We had a brilliant holiday and would definitely stay here again. The view of the viaduct, steam train and river was lovely. Just watch out for the angry goose.
