Heathfield Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #15 of 152 Whitby B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights, never visited Whitby before and choosing a B&B can be hit and miss, however this one is excellent in every way including top value for money. Just 10mins walk into town centre, parking included, genuine and welcoming owners, excellent and spotless bedrooms / en-suites.

Breakfast was equal to any we have had anywhere, including top hotels. Very hard working couple determined to give their guests a top value stay at right value pricing.

Wish them every continuing success which their clear commitment to top customer service deserves.

If staying in Whitby, we don't think you could do much better, whatever price you pay.

John & Cath Naylor, Fritchley, Derbyshire

Stayed here 3 times now!!!. The owners Linda and John could not do any more to make us feel as part of the family. Our room was spotless, cosy and warm with lots of special touches. Breakfast was fantastic as always. We took our 6 week old baby with us and Linda and John could not do enough for us and loved having a baby around. Many thanks again John and Linda for a fatastic weekend break - it went to quick for us - we will stay longer next time and we wont leave it so long before we visit again!!! See you soon Wayne & Sadie and baby Carla from Peterborough.

First timers at this lovely cosy B&B, and were made very welcome by cheery landlady Linda. We had a double bedded, medium size, very comfy, cosy room. Nicely decorated and furnished. Very comfy Standard double bed, duvet, spare pillows and blankets - not needed as Linda blipped the heating on for us as we had the first chill of autumn that week. Sky TV. Large ensuite shower room and toilet, mixer shower. All aspects were very clean, luxurious décor, lots of nice touches, apart from usual tea, coffee, complimentary toiletries etc, also provided tweezer/ nail file/ clipper/ cotton bud set, as well as in the breakfast room - sachets of sauces came complete with a small pair of scissors to open them with! Nice breakfast room, fresh fruit, cereals, full English breakfast cooked to order......and perfection!!! Off street parking at rear of house. Although on a main road, our room was at the rear, very quiet. This B&B is situated 10 minutes walk downhill to the centre of town - you might want to catch the bus back! We will certainly return, thanks Linda!

Room Tip: Ours was room 1 at the rear, overlooking the college playing fields

Lovely place, all the rooms are decorated beautifully with a lot of attention to the little touches from an excellent choice of beverages in the rooms through to the toiletries provided. The house is spotless and the breakfast is A1. The hosts John and Linda cook breakfast to order with fresh fruit, cereals, and a light, vegetarian or full English option for breakfast. We were even asked if we wanted more! They are chatty, fun and happy to answer questions about the local area, can recommend local eateries and the best sights. Can see why it is so highly rated. And an extra thanks for posting back my forgotten mobile phone!

We read several reviews before booking this guest house, but did wonder if it could really be that good. We need not have worried; Linda and John made us very welcome from the outset.
Our room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfasts were excellent, with plenty of choice, and cooked to order rather than en mass.
It is a small world indeed, as we discovered that Linda is from the same area in Derby as Sara's dad.
Nothing was too much trouble, for example, we used the fridge in the kitchen to keep wine and beer cold, and if Linda and John were going out of an evening, they would leave an ice bucket in our room with drinks of our choice.
These two really go that extra mile. Can't recomend Heathfield too highly.
Andrew and Sara.

This was our 3rd 2 night stay with Linda & John and it just gets better!
We always stay in room1 which is plenty big enough with a huge bathroom. The room is always spotless and the bed extremely comfy,
Breakfast is my husbands favourite in all of the places we have stayed, he talks about it to everyone!
With plenty of off road parking and 2 of the most welcoming hosts I'm sure we will return year after year.

John and Linda made us feel very welcome and by coincedence, Joun and i have a shared interest of classic cars so we had lots to talk about. The room was excellent and the location was good for a stay in Whitby. There is a selection of DVDs in the hall for you to borrow which is a nice "extra". The breakfast choice was good and the full English kept you going for a good part of the day. We would book again if we were in the Whitby area.
