What a great b&b. Totally unique with great bedrooms, bathrooms ,breakfast and hosts.
Rooms are not ensuite but bathrooms are only a few steps from the rooms and each room has their own.
The four poster bed was very comfy and we both had a good nights sleep even wtih the bat at the end of the bed.
Will be back and be staying for more than one night but wont be letting Kev know were we are eating just in case we want a pudding next time lol.

Perhaps I've been a bit mean in the rating, but in my opinion this place is on the good side of average. It certainly lives up to its advertising about being gothic themed, which is the reason I wanted to stop here. Kev the co-owner is lovely and friendly, and the room was big, if not a liddle bit rough round the edges, Would have preferred an en suite, but we did have a big, clean private bathroom-the only thing that bothered me was the carpet on the floor-I have a thing about this, but it didn't bother my partner. Breakfast is served in the basement room, and was plentiful but not brilliant. I can get a bit claustrophobic and felt hemmed in when all guests were eating , and windows couldn't be opened. All in all. a nice place but I won't be returning.

We stayed at Bats and Broomsticks last week for 3 nights, which was just as wonderful as the first time we stayed here.
We stayed in the green man room, which had a good view of the abbey.
Breakfast was excellent! The room was very clean and tidy and the host's where really helpful and friendly.

We couldn't have asked for a better place for the price we payed, which was more than reasonable, and just amazing!

We went for our anniversary and took our pup with us. On a morning he used to be greated with a sausage from the owners, and loved chilling in the restaurant with us. The room was very comfy, although i was slightly spooked walking past the coffin to use the bathroom haha. Kev was great, and we had a lovely stay :)

Thanks for a great 1 night stay, thoroughly loved all the Dracula and horror memorabilia plus could see Whitby Abbey from our room. Breakfast was huge with a great choice for a small B & B - if you fancy something different visit this Hotel.

Room Tip: Only 5 rooms and each are themed so just take your pick

Me and my partner stayed here for Whitby regetta weekend, we had driven by this B & B loads of times and always said we would give the place a try and I am very glad we did finally stay here. We received a warm welcome from Kev who give us the once over of the place, we stayed in the Greenman room (which has great views of the Abbey). The bathrooms are just down the corridor past the coffin. Breakfast was served in the cellar and you dined by candle light which was a first for me but to be honest it fitted in with the theme running through out the place. I had read about the breakfast and I was not dissappointed there was more than enough on the plate, theres also ceral as well. To sum this B & B up its not your usual B & B as bright rooms nice pictures, this place is dark and quirky, its clean, theres the usual tea, coffee and biscuits, clean towels are also provided and the four poster bed is very very comfy. We will return and work our way through the rooms.
