Excellent central location, rooms were clean a bit small and cold on arrival but soon warmed up once we had turned heating on. Very clean and breakfast was lovely self service with plenty of choice! Good value would definitely stay again

We had a one night stay at the resolution with our son, his friend and his parents, we went for the footy but it was cancelled due to waterlogged pitch. We made the best of it though and enjoyed a cracking weekend. The rooms were beautiful with a view of the sea to the left, the abbey ruins to the front and the harbour to the right. Stunning!. Staff so friendly and helpful and the food was quality but such value. Breakfast was well cooked and delicious. Went on KGB deal £49 a room with free wine plus £20 for Saturday night supplement. Highly reccomended. There was a band on and an 80's disco downstairs, so we got merry on the free (good) wine and danced the night away, will go again.

Room Tip: request top floor, views spectaular and lifts good.

Booked this stay on a KGB deal. Given a warm welcome on arrival . The room, although an unfurnished one, was clean and tidy. Very good location. Good breakfast each morning. The staff extremely friendly and couldn't do enough.

We paid £49 for one night B&B

Arrived early and was allowed to check in; check in was quick.

The hotel is in a very good location although trying to find parking was a pain because its in the centre; managed to park on a residential street and walked in.

The room was big and clean although the furniture looked dated. Clean towels and toiletries provided and the shower was hot and powerful.

Breakfast was buffet style; bacon, sausages, fried and scrambled eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, tomatoes and fried bread. Unfortunately we were both a little too delicate to enjoy it fully.

Check out was quick and easy.

We'd definitely stay here again; the location was perfect.

KGB deal at £49 B&B with a bottle of wine for good measure. It was very good value for money. The hotel / bar/ restaurant is all in the process of being refurbished and it is getting there. Room 306 acceptable with view over the river/ rooftops and Whitby town. Downside of room, bed only had to be looked at to creak otherwise ok, toiletries etc were very good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Central location within walking distance of all of Whitby. The bottle of wine was excellant quality and when included in the price made this deal even better value.

Returned on Saturday from an overnight stay at the Resolution. It was a KGB deal and we paid £49.00 for bed breakfast and a free bottle of wine. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished and unfortunately we didnt get a refurbished room or one with a view. We stayed in room 306 and it is in dire need of attention. Paintwork chipped, stained walls, freezing bathroom and the creakiest furniture I have ever encountered. The wardrobe door , the chair , the drawers and the bed only had to be touched or opened and they creaked ! The saving grace of this hotel were the staff , friendly , polite and helpful nothing was too much trouble and the cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious. Because the weather was freezing we decided to stay and dine in the hotel at night. My hubby had the Resolution Blue burger which he said was delicious, I had the chicken in sweet chilli sauce, the chicken was cooked well but the sauce was watery and tasteless. Having said that it was really cheap and the free bottle of wine we had with it was excellent. For £49 it was a bargain and the hotel is centrally located in the town so you have everything on the doorstep . I have no idea what the rate is normally but I would have been very disappointed if we would have had to have paid more than the £49 .!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room with a view as apparently the views over the harbour are great.

We had a lovely welcome by helpful staff who told us where we could park for free. The room was sparkling bright ( in fact there was a smell of new paint in the hotel) It's clear that the owners are making a real effort to refurbish it. The breakfast was great with a help yourself buffet . We enjoyed our stay and that's down to the very cheerful pleasant staff. The pub is very convenient for the centre of Whitby . My one minor complaint is that the bathroom fans are very noisy and we could hear both next door rooms' fans too.

Room Tip: room 107 has a rooftop view and wifi connectivity
