just interesting to look round. The work that goes in to this jobs is amazing. The shop had very good prices for kids to buy yet another little goodie from their trip.

Superb exhibition on the work of Whitby RNLI over the years. Great for kids too.

If you are able, donate some money or buy something from the shop. Help the RNLI continue their life saving work.

We usually seek out RNLI museums when visiting seaside resorts. They are free and interesting and we always make a donation or buy greetings cards. This museum is more extensive than others I have seen and you could easily spend 30 minutes here. It is very well laid out and tells the story of how the RNLI Whitby came into existence and outlines in detail some of the heroic rescues and characters that have saved lives over the years. There are some great models of boats and an old lifeboat to have a look into. Fascinating stories here for children.

This Museum is on the harbour-front near to the Fish Market. Fully of genuine relics and displayed in a very small old Lifeboat Station. (One of the original 2 Lifeboat Station that Whitby had.)

Highly recommended and other than a very small part where you have to climb up to view inside a very old lifeboat suited for wheelchairs and disabled access.

Please leave those enormous off road prams outside though. It's small an there simply isn't space on a busy day.

Most informative museum, well laid out with breath taking photographs and tales of heroism. Friendly staff who knew their stuff.
