“So clean”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

They have a designated dog area, which was great. Was very busy, get there early if you want a deck chair.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

With the lighthouse literally 100m away, this very sandy beach is free with £2.50 deck chair hire. Lovely.

“2.2 mile walk to Sandsend is well worth it”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

If the tide is low, try walking the 2.2 miles north to Sandsend. You can get a bus back, or just walk back if you have the energy! You can see where you're going for the whole journey, as the Abbey is easily visible on the top of the cliff at one end and you can see the houses at Sandsend at the other.

“Lovely walks along a not too busy beach”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Not too busy (weekday before school holidays) - Good
Great walk all the way to Sandsend - Good
Lovely clear & cool water - Good
Quite a lot of Jellyfish - Not so good but it was a very hot day

Too many of the few on the beach still think leaving their litter is acceptable :-(
