They have a designated dog area, which was great. Was very busy, get there early if you want a deck chair.
A lovely place to wander and ponder at any time of day or year, just be mindful of the tides.
Towards Sandsend, beautiful sands or walk along the promenade when the tide's in. Or walk up to the Abbey and join the Cleveland way along the cliffs. Spectacular.
Gorgeous place but there should be some control over terrible owners of dogs who don't pick there pooo up. Loads of it
What I love about Whitbys' beaches, is exactly that, there is a choice of 3 sandy beaches plus also a jurassic beach where there are lots of fossils to be found. The main beach on the West side has beautiful golden sands, but there are also two more beaches within the harbour walls which one is still use able at high tide..
lovely beach and we could take our dog on the beach in October and he loved it. we have been here about 10 times with the dog
We walked on the beach and harbour wall. It was a cool breezy day , but it’s still lovely to have a walk. The dogs are allowed to use more of the beach at the moment. It was clean and tidy too. Well worth a walk .
Nice beach stretching for miles. Our favourite bit being below the cliffs on the abbey side of the harbour. We saw a seal swimming in the sea by the pier as well. The only issue was that the cliff lift was always locked up and never working.
Great watching from the pier seeing digs at play the donkeys and a great stretch of golden sands well worth a nice bracing walk along
Walked all along the lovely sandy beach today looking for fossils a lively day on a fantastic beach well worth a visit
Just love Whitby. It’s the best, if a little crowded at peak season or weekends. Well worth a visit if in the area!
This is a lovely stretch of sandy beach on which it is possible to walk all the way to Sandsend. It is a safe, clean beach and dogs are allowed on it out of season. The best access to it is from the West pier, and, as well as the walking, sunbathing and swimming, donkey rides are often available for children.
Worth checking out.
