“Lovely food - terrible service”

We ate at the bar restaurant. The food was very nice and probably worth the cost.

However, the premium price should be matched by service. 3 waiters and 3 tables to serve. We were allowed a drink each and were served our food.

No clearing of plates or empty bottles. No offer of dessert. No checking if the food was alright. No coffees. No second round of drinks. Indeed, no further attention from the staff at all.

It particularly sticks in the throat when you realise the cost. I wish we had just bought a sandwich from Tesco each - the service would have been better, at least.

Avoid.

Who would have thought that a deluxe hotel would work in an adylic coastal hamlet on the East coast??? Well it most certainly does with some style.

A beautiful hotel. All staff were warm and friendly, and the food excellent. The room was very modern and spotlessly clean , with an unexpected balcony. The garden was a pleasure. It had a natural stream running through it, and led to a walk as far as you wanted in the countryside. Everything and everywhere was immaculate and the location superb. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone liking class, tranquility and sophistication..

we were greeted warmly by the hotel staff on arrival but our spa treat went from bad to worse we could not find a locker where the key lock worked so a member of staff put our belongings in the gents locker room we went through to the pool area to be greeted by a big blow up sting ray and two children dive bombing into the pool which rendered 3/4 of pool a no go area, the steam room smelt stale the showers had black mould and that was in three different ones the white loungers had black mould on them and no member of staff came into the pool area till 1.00pm and by that time it looked like a complete shambles it was so wet round the pool it was a danger to walk and platic cups on most tables
the treatment wasnt that brill either just glad the rest of the hotel lived up to expectation but wont be rushing back to the spa
