Certificate of Excellence

We found Lisa to be a very warm welcoming host. The room is exactly as it is in the photos. Bright and airey and very tasetefully decorated. Cooks Quarters is in a fabulous location only being 5-10 mins walk into the heart of Whitby. If you like a really excellent full English breakfast we found this to be wonderfully prepared and tasty, with lots of choice available. After visiting Scarborough for many years where the B&B's tend to be a bit outdated, we found Cooks Quarters and Whitby in general an excellent alround seaside visit. It's a shame we only booked 2 nights. Thanks for making our stay memorable for all the right reasons and we will definately be visiting again. We can recomend the cliff top walk from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay, excellent views. it's a hard walk and good to catch the bus back!!

Just returned from a nights stay in Whitby.
Lives up to its reviews. Lisa is a lovely host, friendly, but not in your face. Appears when you need her. (eg to put the coffee on!)
Yes there are no biscuits in the room, but home made scones in the afternoon more than make up for it, and worth a trip back for!
Bed, very comfortable, loads of pillows to choose from. Shower, once I'd realised I was turning the dial the wrong way round hot and powerful. The en-suite is a good size.
Breakfast. Took a tip from the reviews and didn't order the full, thank goodness. I'd limited mine to 2 sausage, (gorgeous, got the address for the butcher!), bacon, egg and mushrooms. More than enough! Toaster and bread in the dining room, no waiting for it to be brought through.
Only issue is the parking - we did manage to find a space, and we knew when booking there wasn't exclusive parking.
Easy walking distance (or should I say stroll) into town, or the tour bus stops around the corner 1/4 to and past the hour.
DVD's, books and games to use. But weather so good, only returned to sleep!

Room Tip: We had double room, Plenty of space

My wife and I had a weekend here. Lisa the owner welcomed us and showed us to our room. The room was great. She also makes cakes for the afternoon with tea/coffee. The breakfast was tasty and filling. It took about 8 mins to walk down to the swing bridge. We would definately come here again.

Just arrived back from this wonderful b & b. Our host Lisa was brilliant!. The rooms were immaculate and the breakfast was huge and scrumptious! The location was excellent too a short walk to the town center and there is a children's play park just over the road. Would definately recommend this b & b to anyone and would definately stay there again!

We have just arrived home from our wonderful family trip to Whitby where we stayed in this fabulous B&B! My partner and I stayed over with our daughter who is only 20 months old, we stayed in a very spacious family room. It was totally spotless, there were brilliant facilities (A good shower, satellite TV, DVD's, children's books, games, tea and coffee in room, tea and coffee..and free cake! downstairs too). The cake downstairs is served all afternoon, you can help yourself to slices..both days the cake was absolutely delicious...to die for! :) The breakfast served up in the morning was delicious too, good quality ingredients, you could choose whatever you wanted. (Me and my partner went for the big full English..two of everything!) I would definitely recommend the Cook's Quarters to anybody staying in Whitby. The host Lisa was so welcoming and friendly, the rooms were decorated beautifully and we were very well fed. The B&B is situated opposite the park where there is a fantastic children's play area. We all enjoyed our stay, we will be definitely coming back :)

Room Tip: The family rooms are very spacious, perfect for little ones who just want to play!
