What a little gem this hotel is very clean and comfortable in a good location,
We have stayed here three times now for a couple of night's and booked again for July for a short brake.

The rooms are very clean spotless in fact. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help.

The food is of a high standard and really nice the breakfast's are one of the best I have had to other hotels that we have stayed in.

This hotel is really nice and in a good location it also as it's own car park which is just over the road, its also value for money with excellent service.

A very clean comfortable hotel in a good location with a private car park.
We stayed for two nights on a Groupon deal and would highly recommend. The best breakfast we have had in a long time waitress served and it was a lovely treat.

My husband and I stayed here for one night through a Groupon booking, booked the 5 course evening meal for £18 pp in advance when we contacted the hotel to book the room. Our room was spotlessly clean and had a lovely en suite. There were quite a lot of little extras in the room like notepad and pen, sewing kit, shoe shine etc which were more than we have found in other Groupon bookings. The evening meal was excellent, had been sceptical thinking that the courses would all be tiny but they certainly were not small. The staff were all very friendly particularly the waiter, for whom nothing was to much trouble. There was also a good choice for breakfast which was unusually all waitress service. The hotel however seems to be geared towards older people, we are both in our 50's and appeared to be the youngest there.

We stayed at the Saxonville Hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of May, the hotel is situated in the West Cliff area about a 10 minute walk down to Whitby, this was no problem for us but could be a problem to anyone not able to walk far as the walk back up is quite steep, we could not fault the Hotel in any way, spotlessly clean, family owned, everything just seemed to run effortlessly, we were bed and breakfast which consisted of tea/coffee, fruit yoghurt, cereal and full Yorkshire breakfast, or whatever you wanted ie beans on toast, egg & toast etc nothing was a problem and all served to you at our table, even cereal and fruit, which is now so often self service, but we did have evening meal on our last night which was very good and reasonably priced at £18 pp for 3 course meal and coffee. Our room was adequate with en-suite with bath and shower, tv and tea and coffee making facilities, would not hesitate to recommend, we did our booking through a Groupon offer and were sceptical, but were really pleasantly surprised, the hotel has its own reasonably sized car park..

The 4 of us stayed here for a couple of nights over the bank holiday weekend. Overall the hotel was a nice stay. It’s a 3 star, so don’t expect too many refinements. But as others have said the place is spotless and the restaurant staff are friendly. There were a few brusque comments on the reception, mainly about leaving or taking keys “as the doors will be locked tonight”. We did feel a bit like naughty school children. We also had to pay in full upon arrival, which I thought was a bit odd, but didn't cause us any issues. In fact, it did mean a speedy check out.

The rooms are on the small side, and the beds do have blankets. I’d have made the very small bathrooms into wet rooms and ditched the blankets for duvets. We did not eat here in the evening but the breakfast was superb. Lovely silver cutlery and tea-pot (I wish they had used coffee pots instead of pouring the coffee from a large filter machine when the waitresses did their rounds).

Parking isn't too bad – they have their own small car park opposite, but it isn't marked out so many drivers take up 2 spaces and hence it fills up quickly. You can park on the street, and they give you a little disc to put in the dashboard.

It was all pleasant enough, and would certainly consider staying here again if in the area.
