Did the Ghost Walk or mini sprint more like. Harry does set the pace a bit but the walk was entertaining and good value for money. Like any comedian/actor Harry feeds off his audience but it's not all one way and the group we were with gave as good as they got! Nothing said was "over the top" or in any way offensive and was ll taken in good part. All in all a great experience which I'd recommend.

This tour starts at 8pm outside the whalebone arch at £5.00 each. Harry is your tour guide and the tour lasts about an hour and 15 minuntes or so. Harry takes you through the streets of Whitby with stories of how Bram Stoker created Dracula and shows you were Bram Stoker stayed when visiting Whitby. He also tells you where parts of the story originated from and how Bram Stoker got his idea, but you will have to go on the tour to find out. Harry is very knowledgable, witty and approachable. At the end of the tour you can chat to him and take photographs. His attire for the tour is inkeeping with the topic, dressed in black top hat and long black coat. The tour we were on had about 25 people and some had children and he played up to them which they all thoroughly enjoyed. All in all it was a very enjoyable and 'different' tour and something you have to do when you are in Whitby.

We recently did the Ghost walk with a school party. Harry was excellent. He had the children hanging off his every word. A must if you are in Whitby.

This walk begins at 8pm by the Whalebone Arch-or thats what they advertise, we turned up at five to eight to be told we were late and my partner ridiculed in front of a group of strangers for being late and not being sure what the price was, I was not amused-especially as I looked over to the clock on St Marys Church in the distance to check and it was 7.55pm. As a start to something I had been looking forward to, it was not promising. The Guide was particularly touchy feely with young women, so I kept away from him as after his "greeting" I may not have been able to resist the urge to slap him! If you are particularly proud of where you live/come from don't bother going as his ice breaker appears to be to ask everyone this question, then be rude about it. The walk does not go anywhere near the Abbey or the churchyard, it does not even cross the bridge. There is no more information in the stories told that you could not find in any guidebook, and towards the end we stopped outside what seemed to be random shops, to be told various stories (the black dog story appears to be a favourate-as he told it twice). Also, beware if you have any difficulties physically as he strode ahead of the group all the way, not once checking if everyone was keeping up, when crossing roads this seemed particularly careless. I got the overall impressions that as long as he got our money he didn't really give a damn whether we enjoyed it or not. Apparently this walk is "as seen on TV"-I can only assume it was "Rogue Traders" in a story about mis-advertising if it is described as a fun holiday activity. When we finally escaped, we took ourselves off to the Abbey and St Marys churchyard and got a lot more of the Dracula atmosphere.Save your money and go on the open top whitby tour bus during the day, loads more stories, £4 and you can get on and off all day, around various parts of the town INCLUDING the Abbey etc and the Guide on the bus was a lovely, knowledgeable man, a person who IS a credit to Whitby tourism!

Regardless if you have read the novel or if you know Dracula from the countless movies: do that tour! It is highly entertaining. Harry Collet knows what he is talking about! It doesn't hurt that he is an actor either. Spooky but not frightning Collet creates an uncomparable atmosphere and you leave with a profund knowledge of both Whitby and Stoker's Dracula. Tours start at 8 pm at the Wale Bones. But check the dates on his website: whitbywalks.co.uk
