Excellent pub on the North York Moor Rail Trail with a good beer garden, real ales amd acceptable food.
However, it is closed on Tuesdays and the nearest pub is up the Incline into Goathland - about 30 minutes if you are a good walker

The Birch Hall Inn - reputedly the smallest in Yorkshire is a wonderful little place - like a proper pub should be! We stopped off there on our walk from Goathland. One tiny bar on one side and a tiny shop on the other. Lovely

Great unspoilt pub in peaceful location and an ideal stopping off point when exploring the Goathland and North Yorks Moors areas. Set at the side of the river Esk and next to the moors railway its a wonderful pub with good real ale and a sweet shop too.

Step back in time and appreciate a pub as they used to be. My husband likes real ale and will always seek out good old fashioned pubs that have not been messed about with and this is definitely one of those. Nice warm fire on a bitter cold day, a pint and a pork pie and sandwich. Excellent! Half a dozen folks in the bar and it would be crowded. Talking to the current owner who has been there over thirty years.

We always return to visit Birch Hall Inn, very quaint little Inn, like stepping back in time to my grand mothers lounge!
Very cosy, dog and muddy boots friendly, good service always.
Don't miss it.
