Excellent location. Well appointed. Warm and cosy. Actually preferred the lack of wi-fi for a week-end escape. Can always use in local cafés etc.
Trenches fish & chips, Sunday lunch at Greens lots of window shopping and Yorks cream tea @ Sherlocks. Loved it!

This is the second time we have stayed at Cuddy Cottage and it was every bit as good as the first. Its situation is second to non. It's right in the heart of things but tucked away so you get non of the noise. The cottage was spotless on arrival. New lounge and kitchen windows since our last visit and some new furniture in the main bedroom. The owner is obviously committed to maintaining standards which is nice to see. We were blessed with the most wonderful weather for the time of year but it really does not matter as there is lots to do. We purchased a parking pass for Tourist Information, parked on Church Street car park and did not use the car again until it was time to depart. We love it here and hope to visit again shortly. Thanks Brian.

We found Cuddy cottage to be everything we needed for our stay in Whitby. It is close to all all of the sights and very cozy. The cottage is well stocked and the decor is lovely. The location is wonderful, being so close to the steps of the abbey but still has a feeling of privacy. We hope to return next year for a longer stay

What a delight Cuddy Cottage has been for us all. Wonderful location, right at the bottom of the Abbey steps, you can raise a glass of wine from the pretty private yard to the walkers gasping for breath half way up the steps. Very tastefully decorated and very homely. A step back in time but with all mod-cons! Beds perfect, linen and towels lovely. All very clean on arrival, felt at home staight away. We were a party of 4 adults plus a 13mth old baby, we did take babies cot, but a brand new hight chair was provided. Thank you to the owners for such a perfect property.

My partner and I stayed here over Christmas week 2012, the place is located in a lovely area just below the old ruined abbey. The owner had very kindly put up Christmas decorations and left us a bottle of wine and chocolates, a nice touch. The place itself truly feels like a home from home and is totally relaxing, clean and cosy. There is no wifi and this can be slightly inconvenient if you need to work etc but we found it actually a plus as it forced us to not be glued to our tablets/laptops over Christmas (thus having a proper break).
The area is lovely is full of quality bars, restaurants and cafes. The sea is a few minutes away down to the right pier, or you can walk over the bridge to the other side of the harbour to the main beach, again only minutes away.
In all we couldn't recommend this place enough for value, location and cleanliness.

Very well equipped cottage, at the foot of the 199 steps up to the Abbey. Clean and tidy, and with fresh milk and chocolate biscuits provided for our first cuppa.
We ate breakfasts and snacks at the cottage, but could have cooked a full meal in the kitchen.
Good bed linen and towels, and an excellent shower.
The cobbled lane outside the cottage yard was full of little independent quirky shops and cafes.
I would stay again, but outside the seagull nesting season, there was a nest on the roof next door ,they screeched all night, would recommend ear plugs !
