We didn't plan to go to this restaurant but after another we went to was shut for some reason we went here instead. It was a great surprise, offering all the pasta dishes for either £6 or £8 (can't remember which) when ordered before 6pm or something. This meant the meals were all very good value. The food itself was absolutely delicious and everyone was very happy with what they ordered!

We visited the Vinyard Resaturant as we had eaten there before during its various re-incarnations. The first thing we noticed was that it was poorly lit and seemed cold. There were few diners and we sat next to a couple who were clearly not happy.
Our order was taken by a keen young chap and we sat back to enjoy the experience .

Our wine came fairly quickly but no glasses. it was a screw top but he did not open it to offer us a taste just plonked it on the table. We noticed the very cheap paper napkins.
My sea food salad arrived without too long a wait but with 4 large and very hot prawns hanging over the side of the glass . I was told this was due to separation ??? I sent it back. The main course came after a long wait and this was fine. We waited ages for our sweets mine being free as an apology.
Please note I am not a professional complainer as one rather offensive review implies but really concerned for their business. They must get their act together - The food when it comes is ok but its just about everything else is poor Contact your local catering college and get your front of house staff enrolled!!! Learn how it should be done !

This was a disappointment we ate here a view years ago and it was great but it all seems to have gone wrong. Service was sloppy with disinterested staff, one staff member raisied their hands when we asked for the bill. We had the stake which had a bit of a nasty taste and was cold. Plates were grubby as indeed was the resterant. Not even any music. No nibbles as we waited, no treats with the bill. There are better places to eat and spend your hard earned cash in Whitby.
