Lovely lovely place. Excellent food and great ambiance. Their ingredients are locally sourced, they have their own little herd of jersey cows in the moors from which they use their milk to make ice cream and clotted cream every morning!
The food is great and really reasonably priced. Three of us spent £26 on three toasties/sandwich type meals, 3 drinks, 2 deserts and tea and scones. WELL worth the money. The food was nice and filling and their home-made ice cream is delicious, as were their freshly made scones and cakes.
However I would have to agree with the more negative reviewers in saying the staff are not very friendly. What was really irritating was that you can only pay by cash, which we didn't know until the end of our meal so three of us were scrounging our purses/wallets to make up the £26 between us. They then told us about their sign, which was a small sign by their till so you wouldn't know you can't pay by card until you actually try and pay by card. The waitresses seemed annoyed at us at this point for not being aware of this rather than apologising for the inconvenience.
Having said this, the great food and really nice style of the parlour more than made up for these annoyances.
