“Very quaint and quirky.”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Have made two visits here during our short stay in Whitby. The first was for lunch and whilst the baguettes were tasty they took far too long to arrive. Yes it was busy but they were only baguettes. The second visit was for afternoon tea and the cakes were delicious. If you like a cappuccino with a good coffee taste then this cafe will disappoint you. The decor is tastefully eccentric, but the music, which is in keeping with the continental concept, does become a little irritating after a while.

“Small and cosy”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Nice cafe, had lovely hot chocolate and tea with a couple of cakes. Good choice of cakes. Ordered at the counter downstairs, the cakes and drinks arrived a few minutes later at the table we had found upstairs. It's very quaint and warm.

“Mmmmm.....”

Short stop for coffee and cakes, carrot cake was moist and portion not dissappointing! Dont know if it was home made, but was delicous anyway. My friends also enjoyed coffee cake
and raspberry cheesecake, both delicious. Their only grumble was only full fat milk available
and they prefer skimmed. Short on space so you may not get seated at busy times but worth
the wait.

“Quit the moans”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Whitby is a quaint fishing port with cobbled streets and tiny cottages as were in yesteryear ! You can see from the street it is small, so why go in and then complain about its lack of space !
Went there for scones and coffee, both delicious and ,after a brisk walk from Sandsend on the beach, the warm atmosphere was very welcomed. Lovely lady served us , very polite and helpful. We need to frequent these privately owned places instead of visiting the likes of McDonald's etc who are ruining our country
