Called in as we were passing.received a very warm welcome and were treated as VIPs.
Just to very minor points about the bedroom.
1.no waste paper bin in the bedroom.
2.only one chair.(maybe could do with a chair at the writing desk.)
Other than that excellent service and attention to detail will defiantly return.(special thanks to the duty manger sorry didn't know his name no name badges .)More
Excellent weekend thanks to this wonderful hotel and it's great staff. Rooms were very clean and beautiful. Food was second to none. The spa was terrific, shame about the back ground music. Only fault was the smell of the towels.

My wife and I stay in North Yorkshire very frequently, but until now have been unable to find anywhere in the North East of the county we actually like, so we are normally drawn to Rudding Park (which is fantastic) and the Harrogate / York area. I know Raithwaite Hall has actually only been open for less than three weeks, so obviously everything is brand new and spotless, but everything I have seen tells me that this place has the potential to be fantastic. All of the staff we spoke to were very well informed and seemed genuinely pleased to be there. Also there was a good mix of age and gender of the staff, which was also very nice to see. Both outdoors and in, it is clear to see the quality of the materials used in creating a well finished end product, in which most people, I suspect will feel very comfortable. The food is excellent, if maybe a little expensive and the wine list is comprehensive with something for everyone. Breakfast is top class - the continental buffet offering is as good as and indeed presented as good as anything I have seen anywhere. Overall, the value for money on offer is excellent. Three suggestions I would offer would be - 1. Put a cold drinking water dispenser in the pool / gym area. 2. A private dining area is a good idea, but not behind a glass sliding door joined to the main dining area - it creates a "them and us" and will give the perception of two differing levels of service either side of the doors. 3. Although I completely get what the idea of the Rolls Royce parked outside the front door is all about - you really dont need it!!! Have the confidence to park the thing in the car park with everyone elses car and let your people sell what you have to offer rather than using a three tonne billboard. I look forward to coming back soon...

Fantastic hotel in beautiful surroundings. The room was perfect, plenty of space and tastefully furnished and the spa area was also lovely. When we arrived we were greeted by 'Tom' who took our cases and lead us to the reception area then onto our room. During our stay we found all the staff very friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. We are looking forward to returning very soon.

This was a birthday treat from my wife. We were amazed to be upgraded to the Presidential Suite. This was truly the best hotel room we have had anywhere in the world, including London, Paris, New York or Dublin to name just a few. Everything about this place is pure luxury. We will return without a doubt. Staff are friendly and attentive. Dinner and breakfast were very good with quality local produce. This is my first ever review on Trip Advisor (indeed any such site) but felt that I had to write following our recent visit to Raithwaite Hall. We had high hopes for our stay with the promise of 5 star splendour. Unfortunately the hotel didn't live up to its own publicity. I must say that this wasn't due to the staff who were excellent and tried their best to please.
Firstly, check in time was 3.00pm (an hour later than most hotels). Despite this our accomodation wasn't ready when we arrived and we had to wait about 30mins before we were informed that we could go to our room. Like the previous reviewer we weren't informed about the progress of our room, neither were we offered a drink while we were waiting.
When we were eventually able to get into our room we were disappointed that it was so small, there was hardly room to move around the bed. There was only 1 chair to sit on, no mirrors in the bedroom (only in the bathroom) so my wife was unable to straighten her hair and only limited tea and coffee making facilities (and no biscuits). To make matters worse the wifi didn't work. When I contacted the main desk regarding the wifi they sent a member of staff to check it out (he said he would contact the IT department) however nothing happened.
We didn't spend the evening in the hotel was we were out at a ball with friends. When we returned the bed had been turned down and bottled water had been placed beside it.
The following morning we went down to breakfast which was a further disappointment. I had the full English which consisted of 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 egg, 1 mushroom, 3 cherry tomatoes, a piece of black pudding and a small portion of beans (hardly a hearty breakfast).
Following breakfast we packed and left.
The hotel has the potential to be excellent. It has outstanding staff, beautiful grounds and a really nice ambience. However unless it sorts out its teething troubles and starts providing its customers with the extras that you expect from a quality hotel it will be a short lived venture.
At £140 for a nights stay I can't help feeling short changed.
