stayed here for a couple of nights over new year ,execellent hosts David and Tania made you feel very welcome and were very helpful .place is spotlessly clean ,also added littlte extra touches like giving us champagne for breakfast new years day,and also serving it later so we could have an extra hour in bed . we visit whitby often and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed in and would definatley return ,

Partner and I stayed on Halloween as we wanted to visit the famous 199 steps and see the beautiful Abbey.
The Waverley is in a great location, very near the seafront and a short, 5 minute walk from the Abbey. Only downside of location is the lack of parking, but I think this was simply due to the Goth Weekend. David did say a space behind the B&B could be reserved in advance :)
Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was enjoyable. It was nice to know that the food was locally sourced.
Good value for money and friendly hosts - would stay here again. Thanks David & Tania.

Stayed for the one night on the Sunday of Whitby Goth Weekend. I rang early in the morning and asked about a car park space. David said he would keep me a space behind the guest house. Just as well because when we arrived at about 1.30pm there wasn't a spare space anywhere on the roads. Stayed in room 3 on the first floor. It was a nice sized room with a very comfortable king sized bed and a great view of the abbey. The wi-fi worked fine. Breakfast the next morning was well cooked and Tania was very attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. If we returned to Whitby we would definitely stay again.

Had a long weekend here at The Waverley with hosts David and Tania. We were situated in the eaves of the house in a small(ish) but very adequate room with everything we needed. The only adverse comment would be that the free wi-fi wouldn't quite reach us in the top room. The iphone would pick it up intermittently but the ipad would not, but that didn't matter much to us. Great breakfasts and good chat every morning. Tania was very helpful and was always available to suggest things to do in this great little town. We loved our stay in The Waverley and in Whitby itself and will no doubt be back. No hesitation at all in recommending this hotel.

The hotel is set in The West Cliff area and whilst the hotel web site suggests there is ample on-street parking we found this to be wrong. The town is so thriving that spaces were very much at a premium and when we very luckily found a space just 100 yards away from the hotel we decided to leave the car there for three days and rely on public transport, which is excellent.

And Tania and David, congratulations on the forthcoming wedding! You are a great team together!

Stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely hosts, room, breakfast.....couldn't have wished for better. I loved all the little touches in the room which made it feel so homely and welcoming. My son loved the large TV !!! Thank you David and Tania.

We had a lovely stay here. Tania and David are so friendly and helpful, which makes your stay so pleasant. We were also really lucky to stay in one of the rooms on the top floor which has a view across the town and of the abbey on the cliff - beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. David and Tania always leave their contact information if they're not around, so you can get in touch if you need anything. The Waverley is a really short walk from the front and the town. It's a really great place to stay, we would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: If you can try to get room 9 - it's on the top floor so a walk up several flights of stairs, but...

My fiance and I have just returned from a short break in Whitby. We stayed at the Waverley. On arrival Tania made us instantly feel very welcome and even offered to carry my heavy bag up the stairs! We were in room 9 which is on the 3rd floor...lots of steps but totally worth it as the views over the sea-town and of the Abbey are out of this world. A pair of binoculars were in the room to take a closer look at the beauty on offer. The room was perfect...cosy, cute and of a high standard. The bed was so comfy (hense the reason we only just made breakfast). The towels and bed linen was pure luxury and smelled amazing. The bed and breakfast is in a perfect walking distance to town and the old town. Free on street parking is available in near by streets. Breakfast was yummy and the fresh ground coffee was out of this world. At checkout, Tania and David took time away from their daily routine to have a chat with us. Both so very friendly and an inspirational couple. Thanks for a fantastic weekend. Already recommended to lots of friends and family and we hope to be back in the summer.

Room Tip: Climb to the top for amazing views!!!
