We come up to Whitby quite often now, and we always have a ride on Elizabeth. It's for the kids, honest! Viv, Vern and Andy the fireman always look after us, and we all love it when Vern literally fires up the engine! Go on, give it a try, but you've got to make sure you wave to everyone while you're going round. Even though we're regulars now we still love to hear Elizabeth's history, and next time we come we'll try to remember some dog biscuits for Millie!

We had a lovely day in Whitby on 28th December (yes DECEMBER) the weather was wonderful and the town looked wonderful. The Steam Bus was a unique trip. Just £4 for a trip around the town and a talk about the history of this lovely machine. We ll done to the owners who have had to fight everything and everyone to get this Bus on the road. they Deserve our support.

We stopped at Whitby on are way home from a weekend away and what a delight it was to see Elizabeth in full steam. We could not resist so we jumped aboard. My husband was not to keen to go but even he said what a good little trip and great information about Elizabeth and her history. The crew were very welcoming and gifts to buy we're fantastic. Will defiantly visit again. Thanks.

This is one of the must-do attractions in Whitby. As far as I know this is the only steam powered bus working on public roads in the UK. The alighting point is opposite the RNLI museum (another must-do). The bus dates from about 1931 and when you board you get an interesting commentary from the conductress. The bus makes its way up the steep incline to the Marin Parade in amazing time - the acceleration is quite impressive - bear in mind this vehicle could pull 45 tonnes! The view is lovely as you are going up and at the top and the trip itself lasts about 15 mins. On the way back down the driver will give a pyrotechnic display that must also be a one-off. Worth £4 for an adult and £3 for concessions.

Nice souvenirs available.
