“"Lovely cottage in an ideal location"”
Reviewed November 28, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

After a slight mishap with our intended rental,"Laverick Steps". Erica (the owner) suggested that we take "Bell Island Cottage" which forms part of the same property and fortunately was vacant for the duration of our stay.
Even though Laverick Steps would more than have met our requirements, we found Bell Island Cottage had more of a comfortable feel to it, especially after a long day sightseeing and this was provided at no additional cost, even though the cottage was larger than our intended rental.
Everything was spotlessly clean and fully equipped and the location was perfect for the ten minute walk into Whitby.
With parking a little difficult outside the property, you have the option to purchase a parking permit for the Long Stay car parks from the tourist information office, but we were fortunate in being able to park in Green Lane, which is a short walk from the property.
All in all, after a slight set back, our stay was thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend and return to this cottage!!

“Perfect cottage in a perfect location”
Reviewed June 20, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The cottage is situated right beside the river around a three minute flat walk to the east side of town and bridge over to the west side. Great location and with a good pub next door but one, very handy for a relaxing drink after a day on the town. Very neat property set over three floors, the bathroom being on the ground floor may cause a trek if you have to use the facilities in the night. Thanks to Erica for the supplies, much appreciated. The only word of warning - watch the stairs bulkhead on the way down to the ground floor, it might catch you out as it did me. So if you find yourself in a pile at the foot of the stairs listening to the birds tweeting, remember you were warned! lol
Well recommended, a lovely find and will definitely try to return.

So glad you had a good time and sorry about your knock with the ceiling. Hope you are OK. Theses old cottages can be challenging for taller people!

“Weekend break”
Reviewed May 7, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We stayed for 2 nights in the cottage. Perfectly situated for walking into Whitby. The cottage is small but very well furnished. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Wine and milk in the fridge on arrival. Biscuits, tea and coffee there too. Would highly recommend a visit.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed April 24, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Stayed here with 3 friends and we had the most amazing time. This cottage has everything you could want and the added extras are a special touch. The finishings in the cottage are to a high spec and it is so spacious, even for 4 adults. We all love it here and can't wait to return.

“Great Position, great Presentation”

Located on the quayside with a pub two doors away and within a short walk of the towns restaurants and shops it could not be better positioned. Bur the inside was great, it is not the largest but it is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The welcome pack not only provided the basis essentials )milk etc) but also a welcoming bottle of white wine. Car parking is not easy but this small inconvenience is a small penalty for a beautiful experience. We will return.

“Wonderful location and very clean”
Reviewed September 7, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This cottage is in an excellent location over looking Whitby harbour. On arrival we got parked outside the cottage more through luck than judgement as the parking on the road is very busy. However, if you are not as lucky as we were there is a car park a few hundred metres up the road that costs £6.50 for 24hrs.

The cottage was immaculately clean and nicely laid out over 3 floors with a well equipped kitchen (with dining table), sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor. A set of stairs lead up to the double room on the first floor and then on to a twin room on the second floor, both bedrooms overlooking the harbour.

There was a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge and some chocolate and ginger cookies on the table which we thought was a very nice touch.

This cottage is an excellent base for exploring Whitby's many tourist sites and shops.
