We have just had a week in our mobile home from 8th sept 2012 to fri 14th . On arrival we were given a map and a mark where our pitch was and told to park acrossways, we had to find it for ourselves , not nice after travelling for 5 hours. First thing we noticed was how full and how close everyone was. I went into reception on the 1st morning looked at the leaflets they had , took the one on whitby holiday park and said to a big lady sat in a chair , have you a leaflet on walks into whitby, she just said "you just follow the path up the and then you have to walk down 199 steps . but it was the way she said it . We have two dogs , the rules state as in most parks , dog friendly but keep dogs on lead , well most seemed to be ignoring that rule, they were letting there dogs roam around peeing on peoples cars , vans and yea i even saw dog poo about , so it makes all dog owners look bad!!! After the weekend lots went home so we did have more room. We were never told of a designated dog walk, never told where the nearest elson was and water we got it off the map. Why they have wardens living on site i dont know , we never saw them till thursday cutting grass. People coming in asked us "where is the water ? "and if they were on the right pitch?? The showers were clean while we were there ( i always shower in flip flops ) so i did see the bath mats you could use. The water doesnt stay on for long about 7 secs in one of them. Water was cold had to press quite a few times then it was red hot ??? No hairdryer/s ?? Cafe we couldnt fault . lovely food . Club we only had a drink once at the back with the dogs , and we noticed it was bingo and a singer no one was really listening too , not our scene .It had been windy most of the week people had pulled down their awnings , on thursday we had gale force winds 40 to 50 mph and we were up with most people and turned the van around at 1.30 am as no one was in front , so we were not getting the full force of the wind .On the friday morning we decided that we may as well get up and prepare to go home rather than stay another windy night and have to get up and go for the time they state which is 10am.Believe it or not a warden came by and said "your van needs to be parked length ways" i said i know it has been all week , we turned it around at 1.30 am this morning due to the bad winds , and all he said was "couldnt you hack it and laughed and he went across to another couple to tell them they had parked in the wrong place. So this site needs to get their wardens sorted to do their job properly . On leaving and handing the key in, a young girl said "Has everything been ok" so i said , well no , and told her all the above . I said its just simple things , manners if you like , on arrival , have you been here before? if not, show you to your pitch , show you where things are etc . So come on Whitby Holiday Park get yourselves sorted .

Room Tip: Not a good place for people who can not walk far or climb steps which are steep.

Poor standard of cleanliness in the toilets/showers, no sink plugs in the gents. Dirty shower mats, luke warm water in the showers, smell of drians. You had to keep your hand on the shower push button to keep the water flowing otherwise it knocked off - either 4 seconds, 8 seconds depending on which shower you used. No hairdryer in the ladies. Excessive water pressure at the sinks, drenching you when washing hands. Pitches not clearly marked and not level. No help or advice when pitching. Extra price for a sea view. Maintenance leaves a lot to be desired.

Just paid (Sept 2012) £26 a night for a cliff top sea view in our motor caravan (awning and dog £2 a night each extra) and was forever chasing away other peoples dogs who were not on leads!! We resented having to remove dog dirt from around our awning. Some weekend visitors (who had been encouraged by special offers) did not adhere to site regulations. Just to have signs around the place is not enough and people should be told on arrival to keep their dogs on leads and to clean up after them. Also the ladies showers were ridiculous, my wife having to keep her finger on the shower operating button all the time because as soon as she took her finger off, the water stopped and was cold on start-up each time. All the showers in the block were the same. On departure the girl in the office asked if we had had a good time and my wife asked her if she wanted constructive criticism and told her of our problems. The girl could only say that she was sorry and have a safe journey home!

Stayed from 25th Aug for week, fantastic caravan, brilliant views out to sea and nice and quiet, only down side to the site is the wasted club, good venue, bad entertainment apart from the last night, one night nothing but a singer setting his gear up to look at for 2 hours then he was lousy, did feel sorry for him though as only 20 people bothered to show up anyway, they go mad on bingo nights though, struggle for a seat in the main room, shop is vastly overpriced, closes far too early, lovely walk along the cliff top passed the abbey into Whitby, steps down to Saltwick Bad quite dangerous in parts, especially for children and the less fit, overall a great place to stop but they need to improve the entertainment.
