We stayed at Gramarye Suites for two nights. The room was beautiful- notably spacious with a luxury bathroom on a separate level. The unique artwork and slightly gothic decor gave the room extra character and we definitely felt like we were enjoying an escape from the humdrum!
Breakfast was second to none. A huge range of fresh fruit, pastries and cereals, followed by top quality full grill. As a cheese lover, I indulged in a continental- such quality and variety. A breakfast like no other.
From the moment we arrived Molly and John made us very welcome, even leaving us home baking in the room each day!!
Definitely worth a visit. Amazing value for money.
Best B and B I've ever been to!

My husband and I enjoyed an excellent three-night stay at the Gramarye Suites this past August. We chose it because we knew we wouldn't be out all the time and wanted somewhere we would enjoy spending time in our room.
Molly and John made us feel very welcome. The whole house was well presented, peaceful and exceptionally clean and our room (the Gothic Suite) which featured a grand wooden four poster bed, was very comfortable and kept stocked up with delicious home made cake, fresh fruit, coffee (that you could brew in the cafetiere supplied) and teas, fresh milk, bottled water and biscuits, all replenished daily while we were out in Whitby. The bathroom managed to be both large and cosy and featured a corner bath, which was lovely to soak in at the end of the day, as well as a good shower over the bath.
Breakfast was incredible: generous and delicious. And also a nice opportunity to chat to Molly and John and the other guests to get ideas for places to visit. You could help yourself to (among other things) freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, fresh fruit salad, bread, cheeses and pastries. Cooked breakfasts were made to order - we mostly stuck to the traditional English, which featured Cumberland sausages from the local butcher. Other breakfast offerings we spied looked equally generous and delicious. Toast came with optional home-baked muffins and bagels, which even though I was full I couldn't help sampling with a large helping of Molly's own strawberry jam (made with lavender to bring out the flavour).
We came by train and found the b&b mercifully close to Sleights station (but not so close that any of the trains passing through could bother you) and it was easy enough to follow the timetables and get a bus (from across the road at the top of where the b&b was - no more than a couple of minutes away) or a train into Whitby. We also took taxis a few times, which John and Molly were only too happy to help book, when we didn't want to wait. The taxi cost around about £8 or less each way.
It was a wonderful trip and nice to be somewhere so close to Whitby but, at the end of the day, also removed from the seaside town-centre madness!

We have just returned from 2 nights in the garden room and we had a fantastic time. The best thing about Gramarye suites is the hosts. Molly and John are some of the nicest people we have met and we felt so looked after. Our room was gorgeous and we loved the decor. The room had everything you could want including fresh milk in a mini fridge, Molly's divine cake, magazines and a bathroom that felt like it was in a spa. Breakfast was the best we have had anywhere. I've never had so much homemade foods including bread, jams, muffins, bagels, croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice and pastries. The cooked breakfast was to die for with local butchers bacon and sausage. We had an amazing stay and can't recommend Gramarye suites enough, we can't wait to go back!

Just returned home from a wonderful 3 night stay at Gramarye Suites. John and Molly are fantastic hosts without being to overbearing. Wonderful breakfast and our room (The Gothic suite) was perfect, so clean and welcoming. After a long day walking and exploring Yorkshire it was wonderful to come back to our room and find the fridge refreshed with bottled water and milk alongside a fresh fruit bowl and Molly's yummy homemade cakes. John has fantastic knowledge of the area and recommended several places for us to visit. Highly recommended and we will most definatley return for another wonderful stay. Thank you

Just arrived back from a 3 day break at the Gramarye and it is the second time that we have been. Molly and John the perfect hosts. The place is immaculate and the breakfasts are fantastic! Waiting for you in the room every day is Fresh fruit, cake and in the fridge there is always stocks of bottled water and milk. We have tried the Gothic and Garden rooms so must revisit to test out the Faeire room.

Before I made the booking I read some of the reviews from other people who had stayed here, they all said how spotlessly clean it was and how great the food is and they talked about the beverage tray in the room and also fresh fruit being left in the room daily along with home baked cakes left every day and a full flask of milk left in the room fridge. Well We just stayed there and all the reviews were right! Top quality food for breakfast inc. Dry cure bacon, top quality sausages free range eggs and other things for the full English, you could have a choice way too much to go into here, home baked bread, muffins even home made Bagels, fresh fruit salad every day and tea and coffee pots almost too heavy to lift. The rooms were perfect with a bed I could have brought home with me. Nothing is too much trouble for Molly and John who are very attentive without being overbearing and they have great knowledge of the area such as places to eat or more importantly places you maybe shouldn't eat. They can advise on places to visit at all times of year. The village is both safe and quiet with many amenities within the village. Anyone who wants to see how a B&B should be run should visit Gramarye. We will be back soon.
