Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of October. The b&b was very quaint and the landlord and landlady couldnt do enough. Keith (the landlord) had lots of local history knowledge and filled us in about varous points in history.
The room was comfy, clean and nicely decorated but really really cold. My other half was freezing and unfortunatly the water wasnt hot enough to take advantage of the slipper bath.
The breakfast was lovely - loads of choice and nothing was too much hassle for the landlady - she even offered to get up at 6 on the morning of check out to make us a bacon sandwich as we had to leave early.
It was lovely and quiet in the village and easily positioned for access to Whitby and other places of interest on the east coast.

We visited this B&B last week, having chosen it for it's excellent reviews and the for fine dining described on it's website.
We found the landlord (Keith) and lady (Mandy) very helpful and accommodating and Keith gave us lots of interesting local history.
The room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. The large en suite had a pleasant shower. We did have to ask for a bath mat so we didn't drip on to the wooden floor, but this was promptly provided. The box of Maltesers was a nice touch, the room was well appointed and clean.
We were slightly disappointed when on speaking to Keith before we arrived on our first evening, to hear the dining room was closed that evening but they could offer a skeleton bar menu. We asked if the dining room would be open the following night (Wednesday) with the hope that we would get to try the fine dining then, to be told it wouldn't be again, though Keith did offer to source any food of our choice and cook for us. However, we chose to eat out in Whitby both evenings. The breakfasts cooked by Mandy were huge and very good, setting us up for a busy day and there was plenty of choices of fruit, cereal and yoghurt.
Overall, a very enjoyable visit.

We stayed for one night in early October and it's a lovely village pub / B&B with friendly owners and extremely good food, both the evening meal and breakfast were great. I had the smoked salmon for breakfast and it was fantastic, from the local "smokery" in Whitby. It's a couple of miles from Whitby and looks like a pleasant walk although we drove. There's seating outside which looks perfect for when it's a sunny day and a large carpark next door.

We stay at lots of B&Bs and perhaps it's a little overpriced but if you have a meal there it makes up for the price by the quality of the food so it kind of evens itself out. Does that make sense?

My girlfriend gave me a birthday surprise at Ye Old Beehive Inne last weekend and what a lovely time we had!

We were met on arrival with a warm welcome from our hosts, Keith and Mandy, who introduced us to the Beehive, the local history and places to visit. Keith then showed us to our room which was very comfortable with a separate bathroom with freestanding bathtub.

We'd already booked dinner for the Saturday night but decided to eat in on the Friday also. We were not disappointed. The food was of a very high quality and the Theakston's was excellent! Whilst there was a separate dining room we enjoyed eating in the bar on both nights. The Beehive offered a good selection of fish and meat dishes which we both enjoyed. There were a variety of locals, other guests, and regular visitors in the bar on both nights.

Places like Sandsend and Whitby are within a few minutes easy drive with easy parking. Our weekend was really enjoyable, very relaxed, and very romantic. Ye Old Beehive Inne provided the perfect base and hospitality to do what we wanted, when we wanted to. Special mention should also be made of Mandy's stunning breakfasts!

Whilst there's plenty of other hotels, inns and B & Bs in the area, we'll definitely be returning to Ye Old Beehive Inne because of the warm welcome, decent accommodation, quality food, and value for money it offers. In summary, a place to relax and enjoy.

Room Tip: Choose the one with the freestanding bath!

My wife and i stayed at the beehive for four nights 10/10/13 to 15/10/13. It was my wife's birthday treat, and what a treat it was. Mandy & Keith made our stay even more of a treat , they made us feel so welcome as soon as we stepped in side the front door. In the evening we had our meals in the bar made by Ben their son, and what wonderful meals they was , every thing was made to order and fresh that day, the fish especially. Keith would give you a tune on his guitar, and a song if you was lucky. They where a mass of information about the area, and gave you good directions. We will be going back soon to do it all again.

Room Tip: Room one had an excellent view

My Husband and I stayed at the Beehive for our anniversary in August....From the outset, Keith made us feel that that we had known them for years, regailing all and sundry with tall tales from front of house, whilst Mandy beavered away behind the scenes to produce prodigious amounts of wonderful food - leave the diet sheets at home! Hospitality was overwhelming - to the point of providing my husband with a shirt in lieu of his inadequate packing. Rooms were very comfortable, with all the necessary creature comforts and any oversight a request away. Highly recommended for a weekend away from it all.
