“Just What You Want”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Lovely B&B.Rooms clean & comfortable. Carol and Mick are very friendly. Breakfast cooked to order and is superb, everything you need to set you up for the day to walk around Whitby.
Just about a 10-15 min walk into the centre.

Just stayed here for the weekend and found it perfect. Clean modern room with a bath and a good shower, the breakfast was lovely and cooked to order and the owners were friendly without being overbearing. An ideal place to stay for a weekend away.

We had a 2 night stay at Glendale and couldn't fault a thing. Very comfy bed, absolutely spotless, great breakfast that will last you all day and a great welcome from Carol and Mick. It is in a perfect location for Whitby as everything is within walking distance. Carol recommended the pub The Granby which is just round the corner. Go there starving as the portions are enormous. Thanks again.

Room Tip: We were in room 1 on the ground floor. When booking make sure you check which floor you will be on...

We stayed here for two nights and couldn't fault it. We stayed in the family room which had plenty of space and was clean and tidy, and my two year old loved it! The owners Carole and Mick were friendly and welcoming. The full english breakfast was excelent, cooked to exactly how you want it, and Carole made sure I got a vegetarian option which was lovely. Perfect location, only a 2 minute walk into the centre and parking wasn't a problem, as they have space round the back or you can park on the main road in front of the house. Would definatly stay again.

We have just come home after a two night stay at the Glendale. Fabulous location for all Whitby attractions. All within easy walking distance. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room had a king size bed which was very comfy. All spotlessly clean. The main thing for us was the mammoth size English breakfast. Always red hot and freshly cooked and loads to choose from. Couldn't fault it at all. Would definitely go again.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Situated a 5 minute walk from the sea and easy 10-15 minure walk into the centre of town Glendale is a lovely terrace B&B. Upon arrival we were kindly upgraded to a deluxe room on the top floor which was a very good size, had a good size bathroom also and a lovely view of the abbey over the roof tops. The only downside to this room. Lots of stairs, from memory about 47 (I did count but I'm late in posting this review and can't remember exactly) lets just say my legs ached after but what a great workout & definitely worth it. Breakfast was a simple yet tasty full English nicely presented and served in the dining room which is cosy. They take credit cards but understandably charge a small surcharge to cover their costs imposed by the banks. We may be going to Whitby again this year and I have provisionally booked a couple of different hotels but only because the Glendale is not available for my dates, if it had been I wouldn't of hesitated booking for a 2nd time.

Room Tip: Top floor for the best view if you can handle the stairs !
