“Stay at Red House Farm”

A really first choice to stay in this lovely part of the world.
Both Sandra and Tom were very helpful and attentive making us feel very welcome and at home.
The farm house has great character and we stayed in a beautifully prepared room.
Fantastic breakfasts, service and company.
Thank you.

We arrived drenched from the rain on our Coast to Coast walk, and Sandra led us straight to the drying room, and from there into the warm and cosy kitchen, where two fellow walkers had arived just before us. A big pot of tea was there to warm us up, and no effort was too much for her and husband Tom to make us feel at home. A very hearty breakfast, and we were back on our way, this time in the sunshine. Sandra and Tom are the perfect hosts, thank you

Six of us arrived drenched and forlorn after a long day's walk in torrential rain. Sandra could not have been more helpful to our situation and soon had us in her warm kitchen stripping off sodden layers. She turned her boiler room over to us and soon had a load of our socks in her washing machine and lashings of tea/coffee and home made biscuits reviving us. She must have thought we were never going to move but we did eventually go up to our charming rooms which she soon had toasty for us. Reviving was completed by hot baths in quaint little bathrooms where hot water quantity was ample.
We were feeling so much better we walked down the road for supper and then, on our return, slept like logs. A wonderful (possibly the best of the two week trip) breakfast spread set us up for our final coast to coast walking day. Whilst not everything had completely dried out we set off with a spring in our step. Thanks, Sandra and Tom!

Sandra and Tom were perfect hosts - warm, welcoming, full of local knowledge, and doing everything to make our stay such a wonderful time. The old farmhouse has great character, and the setting in beautiful Glaisdale is a perfect base for walking. Tom's breakfasts set you up well for good, long walks. There are some excellent pubs in the area for evening meals - and Sandra and Tom point you in exactly the right direction for a good meal. Our room was spacious and comfortable and full of character. This is somewhere where we shall definitely hope to return.

just returned from another fantastic visit to redhouse farm it still is the best b&b we have ever stayed in.The welcome you get from tom and sandra is that you are staying with very good friends indeed. nothing is to much trouble .the house is lovely with a good feel about it makes you feel calm and relaxed. The bedroom we stayed in the pink room is very quaint and has a lovely window seat where you can sit and look over the views of the farm and hills bliss. i cannot understand any one who would not be happy here they must be so hard to please. tom and sandra are two of the most friendly folk i have had the pleasure to know.it is great to hear their stories . Finally we say wonderful breakfasts in a great dining room .try redhouse farm you will not be dissapointed.

This is a wonderful B&B. The house dates back to 1748 - which is both a plus and a minus. Plus: it is a beautiful, interesting house with nothing standardised. Minus: one can hear other guests. Other pluses include a billiards room, delicious well-cooked breakfast and very welcoming hosts.
Red House Farm is in Glaisdale, which is a very pretty Yorkshire valley. It actually has a station on the North Yorks Railway line. Glaisdale is also home to the Esk Valley theatre. There is wonderful walking from the door of the B&B.

Room Tip: We were a couple together with an adult daughter. We were given a double room with a little adjoini...

Firstly to say that I am amazed to read negative comments, particularly about Sandra and Tom who made my boyfriend and I feel very welcome in their beautiful home. Perhaps Brittany Girl should stick with city breaks if she doesn't like country lanes, using a torch and there being only one pub in the village #dimwitt

A two night break here gave us chance to explore the nearby town if Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and have a good leg stretch into the moors! Exactly what was needed. We were blessed with fabulous weather so really only stayed at the farm as a base. However the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was superb! Tom's stories kept us chatting both morning and night. Both he and Sandra are lovely hosts. They recommended the Wheatsheaf inn for dinner (about 2 miles away) which was lovely and pointed out a great walking route.

I'd like to know what exactly the previous negative reviews were based on as they're somewhat non specific and to be honest, baffling!

Would happily stay again and Yorkshire in a beautiful county to explore
