“Another wonderful stay”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Very friendly hosts who have made us feel at home on every one of our visits. Nothing is too much trouble, prior to our stay they were able to recommend a great restaurant & booked the reservation, all was in place on the evening.

Room spotlessly clean as usual.
Breakfast is excellent.
Would recommend without hesitation.

From arrival nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted with hot drinks and an offer of cakes. The room was spotlessly clean with a shower room attached. The confortable room contained a tassimo drinks maker and the necessary ingredients to make a variety of hot drinks.
Breakfasts were excellent a choice of full English, shacks, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or a daily special. A range of ceriels, fruit juices, fruit etc together with home made preserves were also available.

The Leeway is in an excellent location within a few minutes walk of the old town. There are many B&Bs in the area but what set the Leeway apart was the friendliness of the hosts, the attention to detail and the thought that had gone into everything. On arrival we were greeted with tea and cake, even before we had gone to our room. We were going to stay for two nights, but within half an hour of arrival we extended out stay an extra day. In a B & B you don't often find dressing gowns for your use in the wardrobes, bowls of sweets for you to help yourself to, and instead of a kettle there was a tassimo machine in the room to make tea or coffee. Gary and Karen put a lot of hard work into making it all look so easy.

Once again The Leeway excelled itself and has got to be the finest B & B my wife and I have ever visited. The weekend weather was very cold but no such problems existed in the Leeway, everywhere indoors was lovely and warm like the greeting from Karen & Garry on arrival. Thank you Karen & Garry and look forward to visiting next year.

Warm welcome from mine hosts, Gary carried my bags up to the second floor room, Which was perfect in every way. All light bulbs in full working order! (Not so in some establishments and a pet hate of mine).

The Leeway is at the top end of what I would expect to pay for B & B accommodation, but the first rate standard made it good value for money.

Certainly one of the best B & B's I have stayed in.

Yummy veggy breakfast, lovely room (altho the pillows were a bit squishy for my taste, but I know some people like them). Nommy drinks and lovely smellies. Cool sink. Very friendly nice people. Very warm room.

What a lovely break away we have had in Whitby and The Leeway with the family. We were happily greeted by both Gary and Karen who helped bring our bags up the steps into our rooms. We all had a nice chat over some chocolate cake and a coffee (which by the way was the best chocolate cake I've ever had) before being shown to our rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean, nicely decorated and had an amazing coffee maker with delicious biscuits!! Just to let you know - we have now ordered one of these coffee makers for our home!! The sweets were a nice touch too, me and my brother soon ate all of those. The beds were comfy and the curtains and blinds are great!! They kept the room nice and dark in the morning.

Breakfast was a lovely start to the day in The Leeway. We were made to feel so welcome every morning with a great choice of food. There were many options - cooked breakfast, toast, cereals, homemade yoghurt, jams, curds, fruit... ! Gary always remembered what we had to drink in the morning too and checked if we would like it each morning, thought that was lovely! We were there on halloween morning too and they had decorated the tables with the theme, little glitter spiders, halloween napkins, it was great!

We borrowed a couple of DVDs to watch from the dining room which was nice to do when we had a spare hour or so. There are magazines and booklets with leaflets and restaurants to go to which is worth a read!

I don't think there is anything to improve on! What a lovely stay and I hope we'll return one day soon. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

If you get chance, ask to meet their 2 dogs - so cute and so friendly!
