Stayed here in "The Stables" 2 nights 29th/30th October and what a treat.
We ate in both nights and the kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
There's a wood burner in the living area which I didn't touch as I've never used one before and therefore didn't want to risk things, but I imagine with that lit it would be even more cosy.
The bathroom was lovely, small compact but adequate with the shower being lovely and warm and with a good flow.
The bedroom - apparently the previous guest had accidentally damaged the canopy over the bed and so it had been taken down. It certainly didn't detract from our stay. Drapes, canopies are a personal thing and each to their own. In my opinion however the bedroom was perfect without. The bed was sooooooo comfy with lovely pillows to make for a great nights sleep.
The apartment was beatifully decorated throughout and was absolutely spotlessly clean. The heating was straight forward and easy to use.
The milk, cookies and wine on arrival were a lovely gesture.
I spoke with the owner John before booking and he was really helpful with regard to the apartments and their location. Prior to arrival he emailed further information regarding the area in general - nothing was too much trouble.
We arrived travelling by train and he had our apartment ready ahead of the normal check in time. On the of our departure, again we were able to leave our bags after the check out time.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and would definitely return in the future
Very comfortable apartment -in Settle
Refurbished and decorated to high standard
Cosy log burning fire
Convenient check in process
Car park close by or on-street
We stayed 2 nights to allow us to travel for Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge and recover the following day.
The apartment was beautiful and we were so happy we had chosen this over a hotel/b'n'b.
Perfect location, easy to find and close to many cafes, shops and pubs.
Immaculately decorated, very modern and comfortable. Far superior to many apartments and 4* hotels I've stayed in across Europe.
There's no question in my mind where I'd stay if I visited the area again. There wasn't anything that hadnt been thought of, I genuinely can't think how this apartment and the service could be improved.
Hayloft 1 is smack bang in the centre of Settle. OK there's not an awful lot in Settel but it has everything you need including a Co-Op, two indian restaurants, a chippy, a few pubs, couple of cafes, a newsagent.....all arranged around the picturesque market square. Settle is a great base for exploring the Dales. Coming back to the apartment felt really good after a long day's walking. It's cosy. comfortable, a good size, and incredibly well equipped (right down to bath robes, tea, coffee, a welcome bottle of wine and cookies, a wood burner and an endless supply of logs, kitchen essentials like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, foil......all those things you need but don't want to buy again just for a short holiday or weekend trip. Owner John's communication is excellent, providing good tips about parking and access. We loved our stay here. The only possible downsides if your mobility is hindered in any way is the fact that there is no direct access parking (although the car park is 2 minutes away), and there's a narrow flight of stairs up to Hayloft 1. And if you are a large person, you might struggle with the small shower enclosure. But I heartily recommend this accommodation. Thank you John.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautifully appointed and well equipped cottage - boutique style. Loved the log burner, hot and powerful shower, quiet location but right in the centre of Settle and so close to restaurants, bars and cafes which was great. Particularly loved that we could walk right from the front door - stunning scenery right in the middle of 3 peaks country. Wine and cookies waiting for us as we arrived a nice touch. Good price.
Only downside was parking - only a short walk and not expensive but disruptive to our stay that we had to keep thinking about the car and topping up the parking. Also, steep steps to climb to the property with luggage and shopping etc and dark when we checked in so difficult to find the right door in the courtyard.
