Booked at short notice and stayed in this lovely little cottage in Settle Yorkshire. The Cottage is perfect for two, being well placed for all Restaurants, pubs and cafes of which Settle has a good mix. I loved the fact I could just walk to a Restaurant and not worry about driving. The cottage also perfectly placed in the Dales for all the main walking peaks and places of interest which are just a short drive away. The owner who personally manages the property is very pleasant and gives a personal tour on arrival of the cottage. I look forward to returning to the Dales and this cottage is certainly top of my list for when I return. I would also recommend the Golden Lion and the Local Italian Restaurant wonderfully set in a Cellar for places to eat . Thank you to John the owner for this lovely well presented little gem in Settle. Hope to return.

perfect cottage for 2 people, very well maintained, the owner was very helpful and it is handy for all shops. unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to illness but I would not hesitate to book again when visiting the area.

Well Cottage is small but very cosy for two. Just right, in fact.
It is well furnished, well fitted and a home from home.
As previously stated in an earlier review, the bathroom is very small indeed and wet shaving is a challenge for the first couple of days until you get used to it!! This is the only minor drawback which is more than compensated for by the off road parking, which is an absolute huge positive when staying in Settle.
The owner John is a really nice guy who goes the extra mile to make sure all is well and that you are enjoying your stay.
We would definately go back there.

We came to Settle for our 5th anniversary as our parents went there for their honeymoon 46 years ago. There wasn't much to do in Settle apart from walking and enjoying the quiet ad scenery. We chose Well Cottage because the price is reasonable. It was a sweet surprise for us when John-the owner offered picking us up at the station (it wasn't far, 5 mins walk but the idea is nice). He also got us a bottle of wine, pint if milk and chocolate egg for my little son, which is very nice of him. The cottage is far better outside than in the picture. It is small and the bathroom is tiny (not a strong point I have to say) but it has a lot of character and feel a lot more like home with decorations on the wall, a shoes on the ceilling (so weird). We didn't have good weather so we walked through Malham Cove under the rain, through Stainford under hail storm... but coming back to the little warm and cosy cottage was a treat for us. Our 2 year old son loves it as well. If you are into walking and find out what life in little English town is like, come here!
