“Lovely 3 day weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

We had a lovely break at Littlebank Country House in Settle. Trish and Richard pay real attention to detail and add lots of little extras to make your stay extra special. It all started with the welcome and assistance with bags. We've got a taste for sherry now - not a drink I would usually try but as there was a decanter of it in our room we would enjoy a little tipple in the night after having enjoyed some fantastic walks in the day. Richard is also a good cake baker and leaves fresh delicious fairy cakes every morning. Nice towel dressing gowns to wear during the stay and a good shower with excellent flow of hot water to ease those tired muscles after a day of walking. Breakfast is also delicious and Richard and Trish give lots of tips if you want suggestions of things to do. There is also the facility of a pool table and a fridge that is available to use handy for chilling a bottle of wine or storing goodies for pack lunches or treats.
It really is a special place and we had a wonderful time. The only thing that I would say that is not negative but worth of note, is that you wouldn't want to drive a classic car up to the B&B as the road access is rather rough. It is worth the view and we loved seeing all the lambs and enjoying the tranquillity of the place.

Thank you Richard and Tirsh for helping us enjoy our holiday :)

We've had a lovely stay at Littlebank House with our 6 month old daughter. The room, Brackney Brow, was spacious and very pretty with the little extras to make it feel all the more special. Richard and Trish were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home instantly. We would recommend Littlebank House to anyone who is looking for a special 'get away from it all' break in a wonderful location.

Littlebank is a warm and welcoming home. It was spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. We stayed in the Rome Crag suite which has a luxurious bathroom with a roll top bath. Breakfast chiose was excellent with the full English using localy produced sausage, bacon and the best blackpudding you ever tasted. Richard and Trish could not do enough for you. We arrived late and Richard phone the local pud "The Craven " to ensure we could still get a table. As we entered the Craven we where greeted with Hello are you from Littebank. The only downside is the uneven farm track that leads to Littlebank but I made it in a Fiesta so don't let this put you off.
We live in North Wales and could not believe how quite the Dales are, we are used to the crowds you get walking in Snowdonia. Richard advised we went to Malham this is a beautifull walk and well worth a visit.

We booked Littlebank after reading reviews on Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed. Trish and Richard were fabulous hosts who were so welcoming, and we felt as though we were old friends returning rather than customers. We stayed in the Brackney Brow room, which was was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We loved the welcoming cakes and sherry in our room, and the bathrobes were a real extra luxury. We were only there for 2 nights but wish it could have been longer as there was so much to do and see in the area. (The Settle-Carlisle railway trip was a fantastic suggestion for a cold, windy day, as was the suggestion for dinner at the Craven Arms just down the road). The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic including the homemade jams and marmalades and kept us going until evening. Thanks so much Trish and Richard. We will definitely stay again next time we are in England.

Room Tip: The Brackney Brow room was beautiful and had a view out to the back garden area

Great hosts ! our weekend stay had a home from home feel. Lovely touches such as the cakes, great selection of hot drinks and cracking breakfasts made it all the more comfortable. The location is close to the local pub 'the craven' which offers fabulous food, we went there both nights of our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it, but you should book.

Trish and Richard were very welcoming, couldn't do enough for us and had loads of local knowledge and interesting stories to relate. The room was lovely though our ensuite was a little small but this didn't spoil our stay.
Lovely home made cakes in our room along with hot drinks and sherry! Breakfast was delicious too.

All in all a fantastic stay despite the weather. Will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Our room had small ensuite shower though others had a huge bathroom - reflected in the price
