“had a fantastic stay :-)”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

went to Norwich for 3 nights for the Norwich Beer Festival, the Abbey Hotel was lovely, the moment arrived there i was greeted warmly, the owners are very nice people,

I stayed in a room with a single bed, the room was small but very comfortable, very clean etc, the TV had freeview,

the breakfast i had in the mornings was delicious, the best breakfast i have ever had

the location was fantastic, only a few minutes from Norwich Train Station which meant i could easily get a bus into town

overall i had a fantastic stay and i would definitely stay at the Abbey Hotel again :-)

Trip advisor told me what i wanted to hear so i booked. It was for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. One twin room and one single. They weren't en-suite but the shower and toilet were bang next door. It was absolutely spotless, the beds were comfy and the breakfast was bang on as well. It was run by two really friendly people who helped with anything we needed, even finding somewhere for one of our friends to stay. It was 5-10 minutes walk into the centre with more bars and restaurants a tad closer and a few minutes to the train station. A definite stay again for me as it was real value for money, brilliant.

I read about the Abbey Hotel on trip advisor and was not disappointed. The price is great and the place is spotless. The number of bathrooms throughout was good and the one we shared (with one other guest) was large, clean, and had a great shower.

The owners were so gracious and helpful, we regretted that they didn't have room for us when we spontaneously decided to stay in Norwich an extra day. They were instrumental in helping us find another place close by, though.

I would definitely recommend this establishment and would stay here again.

Stayed one night, first week in August, the lady who runs it was so helpful and charming, every query answered, 'Of course', the decor and furniture very dated but spotlessly clean, the breakfast was delicious and served very hot. I even got to see the immaculate kitchen. Lovely fresh coffee, with refilled catetiere offered. Would stay there again just because of the service offered. Found the mattress too soft but guess that is individual taste. Very conveniently situated easy walk into town. Can see the football stadium from there too for anyone interested in that, not far from British Rail Station. The welcome and service could not have been better.

Stayed one night here last weekend as I was in Norwich for my friend's wedding.

They were very, very helpful beforehand, as I'd contacted them to let them know I'd be arriving early, so was looking for a room to change in. They had my room ready for my arrival at 11am, so I was very grateful for this.

The room itself was small but functional (it was £30 so I wasn't expecting anything luxurious), with a bed, wardrobe, TV and a shared toilet/bathroom just up the landing. There's also a nice breakfast on offer in the morning.

Location wise, it's just 5 minutes walk from Norwich Rail Station. Don't expect anything too fancy, but for me, who just wanted a bed for the night, it was pretty perfect. Thanks Abbey Hotel!

Stayed one night over Easter and they had bumped prices up a bit (I think). The decor is looking pretty dated (who cares!) but to be fair the bathroom was new. This has the feel of a perfectly good Bed and Breakfast, honest, basic and clean but nothing special. The breakfast was a positive.
