Avoid. Dead flies on window sills where food is served and eaten. Dirty room. Run by youngsters who don’t care. Food disgusting. No stunning gardens as stated all gardens not taken care of. Jacuzzi bedroom was Well overpriced. Jacuzzi buttons were cracked and didn’t all work. No hot water. Screws poking out doors. Tv aerial didn’t work. We were the only couple staying there and we saw no one. Bar was closed on a Saturday night by 10.15pm. Staff don’t know what to do or how to treat customers. You don’t expect to see a chef sitting in reception office when you check out. Breakfast was appalling items stated on menu weren’t ready available. No pastries no orange segments or prunes. States tea and coffee served to you, no you have to serve it yourself. Dried spilt milk not cleaned up over two days. Dirty breakfast plates left for over an hour not cleaned away. The award winning afternoon tea does not exist either unless cheap shop brought scones are award winning. Afternoon tea cakes not cooked properly raw in the centre. No knives or side plates to use with afternoon tea and soup spoons used to serve cream and Jam. Save your money and AVOID honestly.

Its a lovely building and setting and the staff where spot on but the place is tired and needs a face lift badly our bathroom was awful, so dated and scruffy the only plus was it all worked ok and we were only staying the night. It could be so nice if they spent some money on it.

Stayed here in December and couldn't fault the room we had! We had the room that offered the jacuzzi in the mezzanine area and the room itself was spacious, comfy bed as well as much much more! A very traditional feel offering home comforts also! Really reasonably priced also for what it is and a good array of breakfast choices such as full English and cereal and more! Would definitely stay again!

As an anniversary treat stayed Sat night and left Sunday. Stayed in Bridal Suite which was beautiful and a very special room with a sunken jacuzzi bath up a few little stairs to a new level. We had scones in the stunning gardens as they advertised afternoon tea in the well kept gardens. Evening meal was really nice and the dessert was absolutely amazing. Will come again. Staff were lovely and you can tell that they are under new ownership as we could see little coaching sessions. Breakfast was great too. We will be back thank you

My partner and I went here for afternoon tea to see what the place was like as our friend is having their wedding there this year. The grounds were is desperate need of maintenance such as mowing and trimming of hedges. The outdoor furniture at the table we were seated at were broken and untidy. The waiter was extreamly slow and didn’t seem to know what he was doing. When we ordered sandwiches from the list he told us we were presented with completely different sandwiches which were dry and quite frankly inedible. The chocolate cake tasted like rubber and the plain sponge was extreamly dry. All of it was presented in a complete 3 tier mess. I would not recommend this place for food or an event. Not looking forward to staying here in December for this wedding at all! Perhaps the hall could shed some light on my review and comment.
