“Take Your Ear Plugs for Great Night's Sleep - Guaranteed by Lenny!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

We had hotel room 4:02, above the reception facing onto Duke Street. We stayed on a Saturday night in September 2013 and the traffic noise was persistent not easing off until 3am, resuming again around 6am. The windows blocked out zero noise. Secondary double glazing would do the job but not sure if the noise of the AC fan would be any better in the summer months. Worst night sleep ever in any hotel we have stayed in. To make matters worse the money back guarantee has yet to surface. This is despite being promised it at the reception and having emailed customer service direct. It seems the guarantee is only if you pester them to reimburse you. Another downside of this hotel was the parking. After queuing for around 20 minutes we spent a further 10 minutes driving around a multi storey car park sized for bumper cars. We finally found the last free space on the roof. Luckily we could park as parking a Land Rover anywhere except the roof would have been practically impossible. All in all not a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a rear facing room and get to the car park early.

I regularly stay at Premier Inns - so know what to expect, there are however many variations from this chain of hotels.
The staff are always helpful and attentive and the room, comfortable enough for a one-night stay. The rooms at this location have a heating/air conditioning unit, which as I invariably feel most hotels rooms are too warm was appreciated, especially since having the window open (by only the permitted small amount) allowed outside noise to be intrusive.
One thing I do find a bit annoying is their pricing policy, which in a City centre location doesn't come cheap for "budget" accommodation.

I have stayed in a few Premier Inns and have been very pleased with their standards. This one, however, is not in that bracket. It is dated and in need of some TLC. There are locks on every door and whilst this makes the hotel very secure, it does make you wonder if it's in a bit of a rough area. I have stayed in many city centre hotels and have never come across so many doors that require your room key to open them!

We had dinner before our night out and although Connor the waiter was very polite and attentive, he was on his own and not helped by the kitchen. The food took an age to come out and was wrong when it did. It also took a while to get the bill and I had to ask for it a couple of times.

The room was very noisy and a bit of soundproofing wouldn't go amiss. The tea & coffee supplies were sparse as were the towels - 1 bath and 1 hand towel for 2 people to share?!

On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and polite and always had a smile and a lovely disposition.

Stayed Fri and Sat night for a weekend break in Norwich (really good city to visit!). Booked a few months ahead for a great deal on the room. Car parking in nearby multi storey car park is free (take your ticket to reception and they remove the charges - you still have to put the ticket in the pay machine and use it to exit though), it's a 3 min walk. Tip: if you use the car park lift go to floor 1 and walk out where you drove in (avoid the 'pedestrian exit' on floor 2). We had room 403 which was at the back - very quiet and with a great view of the Cathedral (i guess only odd numbers on floor 4 will have this view). As mentioned by others the staff were really friendly. The room was very good, especially the bed and the shower. Of course it's not deluxe but it all works well and the value is great. The tea and coffee resources provided in the room are a bit meagre but you can get more from reception any time. Full breakfast was very good (have had better scrambled eggs in other Premier Inns but this is a really minor gripe). Location for the city is perfect, very close to central area and the river, only a short walk to all main areas of interest, easy to drive to and away from. Would definitely stay here again, money you save compared to staying in a posh hotel will get you a really fantastic meal in one of Norwich's many good restaurants!

Stayed a few nights in late August. Room was comfortable and quiet, food to the usual Premier Inn standard, room temperature was fine during a very hot spell. Ideal location for us, excellent parking, friendly staff.

We like staying in Premier Inns, as you know what you are getting. The staff here were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had the continental breakfast three times and one evening meal, which were all very good and not too expensive. However, the room was far too hot (and the bathroom was like a sauna!). We couldn't have the air conditioning on at night as it was too noisy, but with the window open there was a lot of external noise. To be fair we were refunded the cost of one night's stay with no hesitation from the staff member. This has not deterred us from using Premier Inns at all.

Stayed here for 3 days, good service, friendly welcoming staff, would like to pick Sandro out for special praise, very friendly guy who works very hard and is a credit to this hotel.
The only minus points are the air con is quite loud and the face towel in the bathroom was never changed by house keeping even though it was left in the bath as dirty,it was just put back on the rail.but other than that I would stay at this hotel again.
