“Premire Inn Duke Street, Norwich - Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2011

I stayed at this Premier Inn with my fiance and adult son. We had arrived early due to an early flight from Edinburgh and were welcomed politely and warmly. We were able to leave our bags in their lockable storage while we wandered into the city (5 mins walk); before we left we asked if they could check us in early so we could catch up on some sleep before meeting up with family for a birthday bask later on that day. The receptionist was empathetic and immediately made a note to prioritise our rooms getting cleaned and we heard him contact the domestic staff.

We got back at at about 12 noon and our rooms were ready - brilliant!

THe rooms, beds, bathroom and linen were all clean and comfortable; this is consistent with Premier Inn and we will definately return. The window opening restrictions can make the room a little stuffy and air conditioining would be a ice addition but it did not ruin our stay.

We paid for a cooked breakfast, which was all you could eat and get the men happy, and the standard of food was excellent but a little slow at filling up empty dishes.

All the staff were friendly and polite, except for a tired barman who was a little enthusiastic to close the bar early.

During a three night holiday,we stayed in a four star hotel in Wimbledon, Premier Inn Duke Street, Norwich and a posh pub in North Norfolk. Premier Inn was the best value for money and the most friendly and efficient. Well done!

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel from 7.10-9.10 11 and I was pleasantly surprised. I had chosen the hotel because of the excellent price( 88 pounds for 2 nights for a double room) and because of the central location.
Having never been to a Premier Inn before , I wasn't too sure what to expect - I was prepared for the lower end of budget hotels. However , I was blown away by the place. Modern, clean rooms with a large comfy double bed. Check in was quick and staff were really friendly.
I will definitely return on my next visit to Norwich.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The staff were very helpful and gave us everything we asked for. The only problem was the room was very stuffy and we had the windows open and a fan on. Overall it was good and we would go back again.

I cannot fault this hotel the beds are big and so comfortable as are the pillows, everything is lovely and clean, staff very cheerful,
in the town center close to everything. there is no noise from the outside even as there is a very busy road out front. roll on December when i go back.

Room Tip: over looking the river

On arrival (around 1pm-ish) we parked the car in a little car park close to the hotel and ventured in to see what time we could check in. We first saw Ben at reception who was inceredibly helpful, friendly and chatty and gave such a personal service - very impressive!
Ben told us that we wouldn't be able to check in until 2.30pm that day (absolutely fine; more time to enjoy the crazy October heatwave!) and that we were to move our car to the Multi-Storey car park (St Andrews). I was worried about how much it was going to cost overnight yet he assured us straight away that it was free for the whole of our stay - and 12 hours after check in too, bonus!

We were there with another couple, rooms 417 and 426 (ours). Both rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped with air conditioning units and fans - much needed! We used the reception services again later on that afternoon to book a taxi (very useful service and the taxi drivers are instructed to come into reception to get you and quote your room number). Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Chiquito in the centre of Norwich and returned to the hotel around midnight quickly booking and paying for the buffet breakfast for the morning.

Both couples agreed the beds are of great size, our rooms were situated in good places and we had comfortable nights' sleep. The bathrooms were lovely and clean and we had a decent shower too, not something you always get!

The next day we went down for the pre paid breakfast around 9.30am (breakfast is 8am-11an on a Sunday) and enjoyed the choice of hot or cold breakfasts. Hot - all the fry up you could dream of; Cold - croissants, toast, many spreads for both, around 10 different cereals, muffins, pastries etc. Plus never-ending coffees, teas and juices - fabulous for £7.99 each!!!

Overall definitely worth the £50 per room for the night and hats off to Ben for his incredibly warm welcome and fantastic service! Keep it up!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the fourth floor - 426. Great place to be situated; look out over the river and no...
