It you take the Park & Ride bus from ThickThorn P&R and get off at the Norwich bus depot, then this building is right outside the bus station. You cannot miss it and, if you go inside, you will be rewarded with the most magnificent marble interior we have ever seen (and we have been to nearly 60 countries!!). It is absolutely breath-taking and the staff on the reception desk are very helpful and will try to answer any questions you might have. There is no charge for entry and the general public are welcome to visit.

My wife and I were privileged to see the magnificent Marble Hall of the Aviva Head Office (formerly Norwich Union Insurance Company) during our visit to Norwich.

The Main Hall (known as “Marble Hall”) incorporates over 15 Types of Marble and it has a spectacular Glass-domed Ceiling and contains an innovative Edwardian Air Conditioning System.

Unfortunately it was not possible to obtain access to the West Committee Room with its original Board Room Table and Mahogany Wall Panelling and Collection of Ceiling Paintings.

The Marble Hall can be visited on Weekdays and it will be possible to Book a Tour in Advance
by calling 01603 681062.

This is definitely a Gem and should not be missed!

If you are in the area do not miss walking into the lobby of this building (an insurance company). It is stunning...marble everywhere. They don't mind you coming in to look (or even take photos but I wouldn't use a flash without asking as people work in the lobby). I heard one can arrange a tour to see more of the building but only found that out later on. Might have been worth it.

I have a friend who still works here and she took me in for a bit of nostalgia. I had many happy years of working in Marble Hall and I felt a bit tearful. The building inside and out is absolutely beautiful and historic - lovely afternoon out.

Walk into the entrance for that wow factor. The knowledgable guys on the floor will tell you the history of this marvelous building. A must place to visit, its only a short distance away from the bus station.
