On a day trip to Norwich my husband and I popped in here for a quick lunch. From the outside it looks more like a cake shop but what a great little place and what a surprise when we were served. We ordered the meat platter for one and three tapas dishes. Without question this was the best quality tapas we've had in the UK. The meat platter was also fantastic. A couple on the next table were having cake and coffee which also looked lovely although we didn't leave room for pudding!
This cafe is pretty near to a chain tapas restaurant but we both thought that the food here was far superior. Definitely recommend 100%.

Really pleased we found this. We don't like eating in chains that are the same countrywide, but we liked the funky interior. All dishes where home made, just enough with pleasant service. Bit of Spanish music would be good and maybe some blinds for the windows would make it more homely

Ate lunch here. Very friendly service - husband serving and wife is chef. We had tapas: paella, croquetas, black pudding, tortilla. 5 dishes for 2 of us worked well and at £3.50 each dish, it was on a par with a chain tapas restaurant in terms of price but all the dishes were homemade, delicious and far better than those we've had at a chain place. Also had coffee and homemade cakes (almond cake and carrot cake) - very good and exceptional value: £2 for cake and £3.50 for coffee and cake. Service was quite quick - our meal fitted into a work lunch hour. The location is very pleasant and convenient to the city as well as being just off beautiful Elm Hill. The decor is light and fun but tasteful. We shall definitely return here soon.

Paid a quick visit to the new Spanish Café in Norwich.
Service very pleasant, coffee and café excellent or but the coffee was rather small.
The atmosphere and décor is fresh and makes for a cosy environment. Will visit again to try the food.

Casa Pato has only been open for just over a month, but they produce the best Spanish cooking I have eaten in the UK. There's a short tapas menu, some main course sized dishes and a tempting selection of sandwiches. Everything on the menu was something I'd expect to see in a family cafe in Spain, rather than being a mish-mash of 'continental' dishes to cater for all tastes.

We had a main course sized vegetable paella, and meatballs with Spanish chips. Both dishes took us straight to Spain - the taste was completely authentic. It's all home-made too, and tastes it rather than being the plastic imitation served in so many would-be Spanish restaurants, especially the chains. The benefit of the short menu is that they can do a few things well, and on the basis of what we ate that's more than achieved. The prices are very reasonable too.

The cafe has been freshly decorated so is bright and airy, and it's on a corner with good views of lovely quaint streets. The service was very friendly, although the kitchen probably hasn't quite got into its stride yet - our food took a while to arrive as all the tables were occupied. Overall the experience was very pleasant though, and we felt very pleased to have found such good food in attractive surroundings. Definitely one to visit again the next time we're in Norwich.
