This pub is a great stop off when taking a nice walk along the river. it has seating along the river with some great proper pub food. Not the cheapest pub in Norwich but the Plate sized Yorkshire pudding with amazing sausage and mash with gravy was superb!!

I had the meat pizza. It was reasonably priced and all the meat on the pizza was real meat, not the processed stuff you normally find on pizzas at all the chain restaurants. I highly recommend and will return to the Red Lion when I want a good pizza.

Decided to pop in here for a drink after a busy and stressful day.
Perfect!
Sat outside, overlooking the River and enjoying great hospitality.
The menu on weeknights is limited, the wine list not extensive, but the staff and location make up for that.
Just a great place to chill.

Location, location, location. The Red Lion is a beautiful traditional British pub set beside the river in the heart of Norwich. With lovely gardens to enjoy in the summer and a welcoming fire in the winter, this is one place you can enjoy great food and drink all year round. An excellent menu, a little more adventurous than you'll expect (in a nice way), and the prices are very reasonable. One mark off for the Sunday carvery; it's lovely, but the portions are too small.

Although we didn't eat here we did notice that the Sunday carvery seemed popular and the food looked well prepared. But I am writing this so people can sit in the rear patio area overlooking the river and watch the world go (slowly) by. I like my real ale so was a bit disappointed to find that half of the pumps were unavailable but the pint of Black Dog (Elgoods I think) was fine.
