“Medieval oasis in the heart of the city”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Elm Hill, while not encompassing a large area, is not to be missed when visiting Norwich. And to think that these medieval structures were almost torn down a century or two ago! This is a wonderful area to roam, and provides an easy passage from Magdalen Street through to the Lanes.

“Nice Bear shop”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

If you love bears, you will love the bear shop at Elm Hill, which is stuffed to the gunnels with all sorts of bears at all kinds of prices. There is something for every child as well as the serious collector. That part of Norwich is also rather beautiful with its cobbled streets and old buidlings

“Beautifully preserved piece of history”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Living in Norwich there are lots of historical sights but Elm Hill is by far my favourite place of all. A cobbled street with gorgeous medievel and tudor buildings with original decor and beams, a street that seems untouched since the 1500s. So historical it featured in the film Stardust as the magical city of Stormhold. The pub in the movie 'The slaughtered prince' is called the Britons Arms and is a delughtful cafe serving delicious cakes and beverages. There are many gift shops and antique stores up Elm Hill but these are usually quite pricey but quaint none the less. Its a beautifully preserved piece of history.

“Film set charm”
Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

What a special place. Top Norwich sight and feels medieval on foot and eye. Nice shops, cafes etc too to unwind in and absorb and imagine the past in. Good photography opportunities abound.

“Achy feet”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Excellent old streets for those in need of art and antiques but can be a little tough on the feet. Good bargains to be had if you search around
