The Woolie is not in fact closed. It re-opened a week before we visited in February 2014. There is an open fire with a comfy seating area by the bar and another area designated for eating.
It was Sunday evening and a little quiet but I would imagine there would be a nice atmosphere when a little busier. Food is served as 'tapas'. We were a party of three and had quite a good selection and with one drink each our bill was just over forty pounds, which I felt was a fair price for what we'd had. However, before six o'clock food is 'two for one'-an excellent offer which we were unable to take advantage of as we were coming home.
My son is at NUA and intends to go there again with his friends.
Friendly staff and a nice place to hang out. It may well get missed as it is a little off the beaten track but I hope that word of mouth brings people to The Woolie.
