Wanted to try something a little different. Found Chez Denis on the internet and the menu sounded excellent. We love spicy food and haven't really had much Caribbean. When we arrived the restaurant looked rather small, yet we had a wonderfully intimate meal in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Tables were full and it wasn't surprising. Service was excellent, but when it came to the food there are few words to describe the wonderful array of tastes. Menu had an excellent choice to suit all tastes, whether you are spicy and hot or just wanting lots of flavour - everything we ate certainly was bursting with flavour. My main course of monkfish is way up there in my top ten favourite meals so we can't wait to go back for another taster! Highly recommended for a night out and don't forget to try the rum punch!

Excellent authentic Caribbean meals served by a very friendly and attentive host. The food was full of flavour, superbly cooked and of a universally high standard. They cater well for people with gluten allergies / coeliac's as the vast majority of the menu is gluten free. We can thoroughly recommend Chez Denis.

My girlfriend and I ate here on Friday evening when on a weekend visit to Norwich. We chose it based on trip advisor reviews and liked the fact it seemed so different from restaurants local to us. I had the chicken to start and my girlfriend had the prawns. Both were delicious and full of so many different flavours. We were also given another serving of bread, which was definitely required to mop up the delightful sauces!

There was a 15-20 minute gap before our mains arrived, which was perfect as we hate it when mains are bought out as starters are cleared. We had the crayfish tails and the duck and again both were delicious and served with a generous side of vegetables.

There was a good selection of deserts on the menu, along with several that weren't! We chose the meringue and crumble and did not leave a crumb!

The service (from Denis I think) was very good. Very friendly and always on hand when needed. We will certainly be heading back here if we return to Norwich and think anyone visiting the city should eat here!!

This doesn't seem to be much different from whatever it was before. We went at lunchtime and were a bit disappointed with the lack of caribbean food on offer, most things seemed like the usual jacket potato available anywhere. I had Cajun chicken which came with rice - small bits of chicken in an ordinary sauce, wife had Creole salmon which only came with salad which seemed a bit mean. Table wasn't very clean - saucy finger prints on condiments, drinks ring on menu, and slightly sticky all round. Not sure if all the 5 star reviews are just for night time?
Probably won't bother again as there a lots of other places to try.

Good value and in quiet yard off Red Lion Street. We had chilli jacket potatoes. Not your usual mince but chunky pieces of beef. Delicious. Friendly service. Would definitely love to come back for an evening meal.
