“Good no nonsense hotel”

Recently had a few nights stay and really pleased with the hotel. It is clean and the staff are helpful and polite. I use hotels for both business and leisure and can see that this would fit either category well. The bedroom was on the small side, but perfectly adequate and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. Ate in the restaurant and agree that it is perhaps a bit pricey, but the food was very good. The breakfasts are well cooked and service prompt. It is a 10 or 15 minute walk into the town. All in all would recommend this pleasant hotel.

Beautiful looking hotel and cannot fault the cleanliness nor the helpfulness of staff. However, had a poor nights sleep - my room fronted onto a very busy and noisy road (sirens and drunks at all hours) and the 2 pillows supplied were, to be frank, rubbish - so unsuppportive that I was lying flat on the bed. The walls dividing the rooms are also a bit thin! The radiator wouldn't turn down . I also had no only a trickle of tepid water to the bath/shower and the staff were unable to offer me an alternative room (one wonders how the cleaners had cleaned the bath and why they had not reported it?) so I had to have a 'sink wash', and wash my hair in tepid water - not a good thing at 6am on a cold March morniing when you are meeting important clients the next day. To be fair to the staff, they did try tvery hard to assist and did offer to waive the room charge, but that isn't the point - these things shouldn't happen in a well-run hotel of this star rating.

We returned to Norwich after two years and considered staying at other accommodation
but after taking into account all that's included in half board the Annesley is very competitive. The hotel suits us very well being extremely friendly, helpful ,quiet and yet within easy walking distance of the city centre. We stayed in Room 10 which has been redecorated with added bonus of original seascapes and updated flat screen television.

Service was generally very good but with a couple of unexpected lapses; my porridge order was forgotten at saturday breakfast and my wife's soup was served cold at Dinner. Meals however were of a high standard with a small but well chosen wine list and one or two old favourites including the white burgundy. Draft Adnams is a real plus from the hotel bar.

I've used this hotel since 1995, and usually stay 4 or 5 times a year. The reasons I keep going back are very simple. Good value, excellent staff, wonderful food, good location.

Rooms have been upgraded in recent times and this has added to the appeal. The staff remain friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. Wonderful breakfast -- even gave me black pudding recently though it's not on menu. Room service meals are fantastic, and the restaurant dishes are superb. I don't use the restaurant enough as Norwich's real ale pubs entice me out.

A short distance from the heart of Norwich, this hotel should definitely be on your list of places to stay.

Comfortable room, sufficiently warm, nice bathroom, hearty and generous breakfast and quiet. We slept so well, and it was great getting up to a hearty breakfast and perhaps the best part was that the dining area was evenly warm. If there is as fault, it was only one fault - it was the water pressure where it took a little while to get the water running. Rooms were cleaned quickly and efficiently in the morning. It was certainly good value for money and so restful. The added bonus was free internet service.

Small hotel, old building in great location for city. The room was quiet & the bed really comfy. Staff were friendly. Elected not to eat in as the public areas were deserted. Was a nice surprise as the photos on BW site make the rooms look pretty hideous, feels like it has had a recent refurb and been decked out from Dunelm so all in all good value & yes I would stay again.
