“Muntjac meadow”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We spent a relaxed five nights on Muntjac meadow. The site is open and you can pitch wherever you like as long as you are at least five meters away from other groups. The shower and toilet facilities are good, they are cleaned daily and although busy the facilities were adequate for the number of people staying at the site. The shower cubicles are a good size making it bearable to shower small children without too much stress! The evenings are extra special as the campsite staff bring logs and start a campfire for the whole site to enjoy, it is a lovely way to end the day. The site was not too noisy, it was always quiet past eleven and people started to move about at about half six to seven in the morning. Although we didn't bring a dog, the site was well equipped for dog owners with a large run, all of the dogs on the site were well behaved and the owners responsible.
The local area is full of great family days out, can't go wrong!

Always a great stay. Staff are happy, friendly and helpful. Mega pod is a great glamping experience! I love camping but I also love staying in the mega pods as there is a little less setting up than camping, which is great if you're on a short stay. Cozy in winter and great outdoor living in the summer :) Lovely walks in the forest next to the campsite and a short drive to visit the great beaches nearby. Lovely places to eat near by also; http://www.morstonanchor.co.uk/ ; you can get a great lunch or tea and cake here http://www.rnlicromer.org.uk/ ; http://www.erpinghamarms.com/ ; http://www.salthouse.org.uk/
We've stayed numerous times and will be back again very soon.

Room Tip: All the stuff you need for camping except the tent. Bed to on sleep on but you need to take duvet, p...

The campsite is very family orientated and child friendly. There is a Lovely Green and Park area which was always being used, there were even goats that could be fed ! We enjoyed a couple of walks/bike rides around the fishing Lake and through the wood but were a little disappointed to find ourselves on roads quite quickly. We enjoyed our stay and found all the staff polite, friendly and helpful. The shop was well stocked with basics, the washing up and toilet facilities were clean - although we did find ourselves queuing for a shower often because there are only 2 in each of the 2 blocks. Where we pitched our tent was spacious but there were no set pitches so it could be hit and miss as to where the next tent would be placed ! Having had a winge our holiday there was great and I am Just about to book a pod for 3 nights in October there.

Booked a standard pod at Deers Glade for a 2 night Glamping trip and although I am not a keen camper, I went with my husband, kids and some friends for a break..
The site is fantastic and I cannot really fault it.. The staff are very friendly and helpful
The area is beautiful and only a 5 minute drive to the local beaches...
The kids absolutely loved the pods and the experience..
The basic pods are as deacribed, very basic, do take everything with you that you would take if you were staying in a tent...
Inside there are 3 plug sockets. 2 very small dim lights, a radiator and a flat screen tv...
Overall I would definately recommend this site.
If I was to go back, I would stay in a luxury pod, but thats a personal preference, as I like a bit of luxury..
The only 2 minor issues I found was the lack of rubbish bins, so take some bin liners and the lack of ventilation in the shower pods...
The pods and shower rooms are immaculate and cleaned on a regular basis..
Site shop sells the basics, which are reasonably priced..
The childrens park is good..
A must visit...

My family stayed at this site for two nights in August 2013. The main Deer's Glade was full, but we were given a pitch on Muntjac Meadow which is very close to the main campsite (but with no caravans allowed if that suits you more). The meadow is a large open field with no fixed pitches so you set up where you like, as long as it is 6 metres away from neighbours. The wash facilities are some of the better we've experienced whilst camping - very clean and modern toilets plus excellent hot showers, and all part of the price. Very good washing up sink area too. The owners set up a lovely communal campfire at around 7pm, or you can bring your own firepit and there is plenty of wood to buy from the camp shop.

The road nearby could be a little noisy for those looking for total countryside tranquillity, but it really isn't a problem. Links to Cromer are quick and the beach there is great for families with a small supermarket too. Across country there is a larger Waitrose in North Walsham.

All in all, a great stay and perfect set up for families.

I can't actually rate dears glade high enough, was truely lovely. We stayed back in may and we had a standard pod which was great and we loved the outside area. The bathroom was spacious and very clean! It is such a calm and peaceful place and we can't wait to go back.

Thank you very much.

My brother and I stayed here for a 3 night camping trip. Our first since our days as young children!

This is a very well run & professional camp site, in a good location to explore the coast and the nearby national trust sites. The main camping site is well organised with a shop and from what I could see plenty of slides/swings/sandpits to entertain children. We stayed in Muntjac meadow up the road, which is a nice secluded camp site tucked in behind a farm. The toilet and washing up facilities were fine and cleaned everyday. In the evening the staff would light a camp fire for children and adults to sit round, toasting marsh mallows etc

My only advice is to check the local pub opening hours before hiking to one. As we found, after a long walk it might be shut! Would definitely stay here again.
