Description: Frank’s Bar is a cafe-bar in central Norwich. We have filled our bar with good food, top drinks, marvelous music and general chilled-outness. We’re happy for you to enjoy Frank’s Bar in a range of different ways, whether it be with a coffee, glass of wine, tasty meal, or cheeky nibbles we’re really quite flexible. We like to make Sunday’s special as well by offering a fantastic Sunday Breakfast menu (served from 11.00 - 6.00) and a classic afternoon film (screened in the back room) along with the usual selection of great coffee, good papers to peruse and general loveliness.

“My favourite place !”

Franks is simply wonderful! It is the place that we return to again and again, for drinks, lunch or dinner with friends. The food is always great and the atmosphere chilled.

“A Norwich institution”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

During my time living in Norwich, Franks was a constant and always on the cards for food any time of the day and defiantly for some drinks and great atmosphere in the evening.
I think at this point I've sampled the menu quite extensively, its small but perfectly formed and has plenty of options for different palettes, from Breakfast Full on or light to Nibbles with drinks later in the evening. The Coffee and cake served here are also very good and the selection of drinks for later is great, good wine, beer, cider, range of spirits.
Service is good, with friendly attentive and quick staff and everything available is good value for money.
The Decor is great very quirky and norwich with its large wooden communal tables mismatched crockery, utensils, seating. Its very comfortable and homey and encourages you to relax.
The biggest problem with franks is that 1.5 x out of 3 when i try to go i cant get in the door, its unfortunate but if it got bigger it would probably loose its charm.
I know next time in norwich ill be dropping by.

“Nice One Frank!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Our two best friends were married in Norwich early in the morning, with no fuss, just the four of us present. Before the event I had consulted the gospel according to Tripadvisor, which led me to suggest Frank's Bar for a laid-back wedding breakfast celebration. What a great choice it turned out to be!
We started with a bottle of Prosecco to toast the bride and groom, and then ate delicious food served by the friendliest girls you could possibly wish for. I had the buttermilk pancakes with plum compote and maple syrup - the fluffiest, lightest, tastiest pancakes I've ever eaten, anywhere. The other three had bacon, eggs, and tomatoes with toast, and they all agreed it was superb. Oh,yes, the coffee and tea were excellent too.
We loved the decor - shabby chic in a good way, with mismatched furniture and crockery - and the choice of music was perfect;carefully selected tracks from various genres, unobtrusive but loud enough to hear.
It was a first visit for all of us, and I can't wait to go back for more of those pancakes, even though I live 80 miles away!
What a pleasure to find a cafe/bar with such a pleasant ambience, great staff, and quality ingredients imaginatively presented and expertly cooked.

“Britain's best bar?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

My wife and I were walking around Norwich on Saturday evening, marvelling at the variety of places to eat and trying to decide which one to pick. We came across Frank's Bar and peered through the window. It was almost full and certainly buzzing, so we went in and were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to a big wooden table which we ended up sharing with a succession of interesting strangers. The atmosphere was wonderful and the mix of people was intriguing: students with wooly hats playing scrabble, tourists and local people of all ages... We had a simply wonderful meal - pork casserole with olive bread, shredded lamb and delicate saffron rice punctuated with pistachios and barberries, local cask ale, good Spanish red wine, outstanding coffee and home-made plum cake. The quirky decor, the ancient wooden beams and art-lined walls, the eccentric crockery...all just lovely. It's a great place to meet people and the prices are extremely reasonable. The competition in this delightful historic city is mind-blowing, but Frank's seems to be thriving and it's obvious why. We agreed afterwards that if we were to design a bar/restaurant from scratch, it would be exactly like Frank's Bar.
