“Deceptively good.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

From the outside it looks like a basic cafe. It is currently under renovation to improve the seating area which would be a welcomed improvement. Four of us ate a set meal for four that had a good range of dishes. Falafel, hummous, chops, chicken and lamb kebabs, spiced potatoes, rice, salad. Followed by mint tea and Baklava. It was a very tasty meal reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and helpful. Dishes were explained and we were even give a couple of extra dishes to try.

“Great Take-out also.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Once a week, almost without fail, my wife and I eat from here. We always return because it is tasty and healthy and it is the only place where the flat bread is made fresh for you. 2 Chicken wraps with chilli sauce, falafel and tahini sauce, and hot potato side is my regular Tuesday night meal. Highly recommended.

“No Arabian magic here”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

Been waiting to visit this establishment for a long time. Huge disappointment. 2 of us eating, ordered hot chicken wings and garlic chicken wings for starter.
4 tiny wings each, chargrilled. The hot was simply chilli brushed on, no subtlety. The garlic wings had never been near a garlic clove.
Also ordered a bread with cheese topping, can't remember the name but can remember it was pizza base with bland cheese on it, and was the size of a side plate. No danger of getting full on this portion.
My companion had a so called Lebanese meat dish with rice. It was grim. Simply small pieces of chicken, lamb and beef on a bed of fried rice. The meat was overcooked, hard and slightly burnt.
It was an unimaginative dish which could have come from anywhere in the world. Bland, tasteless and little to do with the Arabia I know.
Mine was mixed grill. This came with chips.........a fine traditional Arab dish, NOT !
Same again, small pieces of hard, overcooked meat and some sort of kebab which resembled a thin black sausage. I also ordered a Lebanese salad. This consisted of: Iceberg lettuce, cucumber, sliced tomato and onion......hardly a Lebanese salad, more like my homemade Middlesbrough salad.
This meal bore little resemblance to any feast I have had in Arabia, no spices, no dips, no hint of Lawrence, Omar Sharif or Omar Khayam. Just basically English food. Not cheap either, £36 for the two of us.

“Delicious food and great, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Many people think Taste of Arabia is just another take-away, but the right-hand side is actually a restaurant. The walls are full of authentic Arabian relics - each with their own stories - and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The food certainly exceeded expectations. The chicken was so reasonably priced, tasty and well-cooked that it made me wonder why I'd been choosing Nando's over somewhere like this! All dishes are filling, fresh and authentic - so much so that I was too full to bother with the chips that were served on the side. I would particularly recommend the houmous, flatbreads, Baba Ghanoughe, falafel and any of the meat on the menu. I genuinely don't think anything here could be disappointing!
