The room was nice. Clean, quite big, with all the little extras - biscuits on the tea and coffee tray, super fluffy towels, toiletries; but, and it's a big but, even though it's not the hotel's fault, it is really, really noisy. My room was downstairs, next to part of the dining room and even at 11:30 pm there was banging and crashing coming from the restaurant area. Then there were drunken people whooping outside on the lawn, again, not the hotel's fault but relevant to the quality of sleep. Once it was all quiet, there was a loud hum all night which I couldn't work out where it was coming from, possibly a room upstairs left their bathroom light on and thus the extractor or possibly something else. So, although the bath was great and the room was nice and the price was good and the receptionist was lovely, I would only stay there again if the price beat the other options (eg premier inn or travelodge) .

If you like being rudely told the bar is closed go to your rooms after buying your drinks and dining here, then stay here. A shame really as the Hotel/Pub is a lively place when the bar is open! The rooms are clean if a little dated and parking is plentiful. Some of the staff are polite and helpful, the others oh dear...... The 40oz Steak challenge is great value at a mere £20.00. Breakfast was just OK. But guys you need to look after your residents after 11pm, to be told go to your rooms Gentleman just isn't acceptable. We won't be staying again.

The hotel was busy when my husband and I arrived around 5pm with people eating, drinking and lots of kids around. The guy on reception very welcoming, the room itself on entering was very cold, once I'd turned the radiator on it took a couple of hours to warm up and there was no heating in the bathroom so that was cold all the time!... Would of been nice if housekeeping had thought first and put the heating on before we arrived. The bed, although were 2 singles pushed together was one of the best I have ever slept on, extremely comfortable. The lights near the bedside tables only turned on and off at the main light switch near the door which was a little strange and inconvenient when needed the loo through the night, couldn't see a thing!!..the room however was very clean. We did not have any food but the menu was extensive and very reasonably priced..... I would stay here again but in a different room.
