I only recently noticed the Tripadvisor sticker on the door of my favourite local cafe so wanted to leave a review as someone that uses this place at least twice a week.

It's located very close to Lewisham station, in face there is an exit fron Platform 4 that will lead you directly to the side of the cafe. Due to it's location the clientele are a very mixed bunch. City workers on their way to/from work, Bus drivers/Railway workers having their breakfast/lunch, the local Police often pop in during their break for a fry up and plenty of locals that are just passing. The cafe is split in 2, on one side it's lino floor and functional fitted tables and chairs for the 'workers' and the other side is more homely with carpet, curtains and a small bar for a more relaxed atmosphere. Unless there are a lot of you then you won't need to make a reservation, they'll always fit you in somewhere.

The 'signature' meal is the all-you-can-eat breakfast! Currently it's £5.95 for whatever you want to order, along with bottomless tea/coffee and endless toast. I normally go on a Saturday morning for this, as this is when you get to see Maggie in full flow. Directing her troops like a field marshall, ensuring your cup is never less than half full and that the toast keeps on coming.

I also quite often nip in on my way home if I'm running late and have dinner there. The menu consists of home-cooked favourites, available in normal and large size. I normally can only manage the normal size portion and even then I have to ask Maggie to go easy on the vegetables as I can't normally finish it all! During the winter a lot of friends that don't live in the area often pay a visit so they can have the homemade soup and the legendary lamb shank!

Highly recommended, decent, home-cooked and good value food. Great service and Saturday mornings are very entertaining to watch the world go by.

You would be hard pushed to find a nicer cafe. The breakfasts are cheap, good quality and extremely generous portions. The staff are lovely and the hot drinks are free flowing. Have only eaten there once in the evening but this was also great. Again the food was good quality and generous portions and the staff couldn't have been more helpful if they tried.

The one thing wrong with this place is it's opening times. They're not open on sundays (can't tell you the amount of times I've dreamed longingly of a Maggie's breakfast on a sunday morning. And they shut at 8pm on weekdays.

I have used Maggies for numerous years mainly for the odd breakfast. The eat as much as you like deal is fantastic value. The food is decent quality and I've found it always to be nice and hot. Bottomless tea and coffee is also a nice touch. Also a good place if you are looking for lunch or dinner. Again the portions are huge and food is reasonably priced. When on the premises Maggie patrols the tables like an old fashioned dinner lady to make sure her guests are being looked after. Overall I would describe this place as more than your typical greasy spoon cafe. Would I make a special trio here? probably not but when working in the are it's a must visit.

This place is just the ticket to set you up for a Saturday. Unlimited choice from an extensive menu of items including bubble, liver, and a few other surprises. No messing about picking a set brekkie, just list what you want. All comes with bottomless tea or coffee and the charismatic Maggie barking orders and making sure your cup is never empty. All that for £5.95.

A proper cafe, excellent service, mixed clientele and all welcome. A great place to stop off on way to the station or shops. When I was there Maggie was giving free tea and coffee fill ups.
