I used to visit Eyre Brothers regularly when I worked round the corner, but hadn't been for around 7 years when we went for my birthday in mid-September. We had a great meal, all choosing different things. I'm a sucker for their Mozambique Prawns but decided to go for something different, having the acorn-fed Iberico pig. It was different to any pork I've ever tasted before, served medium rare. Delicious. We definitely won't leave it another 7 years before we go back!

What is it about these new Spanish restaurants springing up all over the place? There was a time when Italian was the thing. But now it is the Iberian Peninsula that provides deliciously, satisfying reliable wholesome food. Two weeks ago I was in Moro. Tonight Eyre Brothers. Oddly named but polished, and the urban equivalent of Moro's rural feast. Delightful pork fillet cut chunky and brushed with a spicy chili edge for a last minute fire on the back of the tongue. There were exquisite delicate starters and afterward, a gorgeous wedge of Tarte Santiago with a dollop of marmalade. What any bullfighter would crave after a day on the plains near Seville, I surmise.

Three bottles of a marvelous Rioja between us and back onto the streets of Shoreditch. My what a suave end of town this has become

The staff were friendly and helpful and the food delicious. It proved a good choice. Peppers Padron as openers, grilled quail as starter and the excellent pork for main course made it memorable for all the right reasons!

It's been around for a decade, but it remains unchallenged as the best place to eat in Shoreditch. The menu has been revamped and so you can graze across any combination of tapas, starters and mains. Some of the dishes that were previously advance order only (like the cataplana of pork and clams) are now on the regular menu. Read my full review here: http://tmblr.co/Zw5uiwVGvOEY

Best restaurant in shoreditch, especially if you're tired of whatever place is deemed to be hip this month. Top notch Iberian food. The pork is the house speciality and it is outstanding. So smooth and so well seasoned that you're left wondering whether it really is pork or just some wonderful meat you've never had before. The foie gras starter was also excellent. Nice sophisticated buzz on a Friday night it the place and attentive, knowledgeable staff. A little on the pricey side perhaps, but not unjustifiably so. Will be back.
