“The Go-to place for a great wrap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Abu Zaad is the place to go for a great falafel or shawarma wrap. £2.50 for a take away falafel and £3.00 for a shawarma. You won't wait long either, your wrap is usually ready and bagged in a couple of minutes. The staff are quite hospitable, usually persisting that you sit down while you wait. For the price and quality of what you get it doesn't make sense to go elsewhere.

“Amazing, full of flavours!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

I couldn't say that the interior of the restaurant is very posh or exquisite. But the atmosphere is definitely Eastern, terracotta dishes, Arabic music...
The food is really great! Very authentic and full of flavours! And the prices are great! We had 5 starters and 3 main courses to share between 3 of us and we spend only £60! I must say the houmous I tried at Abu Zaad is one of the best ones I have ever tried! The afghan rice is cooked to perfection!I really enjoyed our meal here!!!

“Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

The premises are not that appealing, neither outside or inside, but it was full of people, so we thought that was a good sign. And we were right! The food was very good. No alcohol served here but water goes nicely with the food.

“Not the worst...but have had better definitely...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Came and ate here on Edgware Road before visiting some relatives on a very sunny Saturday afternoon...

I ordered the Molokiyah and got rice with it. It was basically a few bits of chicken with some leafy vegetable in some salty kind of sauce...definitely NOT what Molokiyah is supposed to be! There was too much of the leafy vegetable, way TOO much, and I ended up not eating it all (despite my hatred for wasting food!)

The side dish of rice served with it tasted EXACTLY like Uncle Ben's rice that you put in the microwave, which I used to eat regularly back when I was at uni!

Everything else seemed to be too salty and not great otherwise....Falafel was good....but then again I don't think falafel is too difficult to make/get right.

The reason I didn't give it a "terrible" rating is because it's not the worst food, but wasn't living up to expectations. Also the decor and location are pretty good, but the food also needs to be better!

Waiters also seemed to be running around like crazy, making for a claustrophobic, dangerous feel.
