“Great turkey for Thanksgiving”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

Granted I only got a turkey here for Thanksgiving, but this shop is full of everything a chef could want for meat. There seems to be every cut of meat of every animal under the sun and they also sell homemade meat pies and have a little deli counter. In addition to meat the Ginger Pig sells salt, seasoning, and other goods to dress up your butcher counter purchase. A short walk from Baker Street station, you can smell this shop a block away-it's meaty goodness waifs down the street and beckons you in. Our turkey was delicious as well!

“Great entertainment, food and you learn something too!”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

Was brought this as a present it was half a day learning about Pork Butchery., Was both entertaining and informative you learn all the different cuts what they are best for and how to cut / cook them. There is a mixture of Therory, demonstration and hands on learning. You also get a snack when you arrive and some Fab roast Pork dinner a glass of wine and a pud to end your experience. You get to keep the piece of Pork Loin you bone and roll its is first rate produce too.
Being in London and being Organic etc its not cheap but a really great experience and you come away with some real practical knowledge and dinner for a couple of days would highly recommend.

“Chop up a pig”
Reviewed July 27, 2014 via mobile

Attended one of the evening courses learning how to butcher half a pig. Two guys running the course great fun, right amount of serious and mickey taking. Great birthday present. There were 12 of us, all got to bone and roll a massive loin joint. Snack of a slice of the sausage rolls they sell in the shop...delicious! To keep hunger pangs at bay, then after slicing and dicing the pig a slap up meal of roast pork and dauphinoise potatoes with loads of wine followed by bread and butter pudding.
The shop and ethos looks absolutely gorgeous, wish we had one near us
Cant wait to book the next course

“Hack your way through a pig”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

I have now been to two separate classes at the Ginger Pig - Pork and beef. It is obvious that the staff take pride in their work and skills. The class remains interesting through theory and practical work including sawing through bones, rolling a joint (!) and learning what to do with the various parts of the animal. It culminates in a very large banquet of the meat we prepare with simple sides and glasses of wine. Highly recommended!
