After eating at a few restaurants in London, which purchase meat from the Ginger Pig (Hawksmoor etc) and having such fantastic meals, we decided to buy some ourselves for home use. The butchers is just off Marylebone High Street, towards the Baker Street end. It’s one of the biggest butchers I’ve been into and there is a fantastic array of cooked and uncooked produce. For the uncooked meat there are all sorts of unusual and wonderful things, right from normal steaks to offal and the best selection of sausages I’ve ever seen. In the cooked section, there are pies, sausage rolls, pastries etc. At £5.50 the pies are very good and definitely substantial enough for 2 people. They do take credit cards (I think over £10) as well as cash. It’s not the cheapest place to purchase meat but its definitely very good meat and worth a visit.
