Description: Our award-winning Oyster & Porter House is situated at the heart of London's bustling Borough food market next to London Bridge. Our small but perfectly formed dining room is made up of a long oyster bar and high tables. It is relaxed, informal and full of life. The open kitchen, counter seating and blackboard menus all add to its magic. Naturally, our speciality is oysters and throughout the year we offer a wide range, sourced from the best producers around the British Isles and France including our very own oyster farm in Cornwall. Grab an outdoor table, sit back, enjoy a plate of oysters and a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere of the thriving market - we've been told it's one of the hottest spots in London. Head chef Rob Malyon has a passion and flair for great ingredients cooked simply. We sell only fish and shellfish from sustainable stocks and source as much as possible from small Cornish day boats, embracing our 'sea to plate' philosophy.

“Expensive but delicious”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Not the cheapest place around but if you feel like splashing the cash they do offer very delicious, fresh food. The portion sizes aren't huge, but we chose to share several seafood dishes and cleaned off all the plates nicely! The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, explaining all the different dishes available.

“Good food in nice surroundings.”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

We had forgotten to book a table for a Saturday evening but asked the staff of Hotel Indigo Tower Hill to deal with that impossible task a Friday evening. We wanted fish for 6 persons and our hotel managed to get us squeezed in. Great evening. Informal place - big room with rather big tables, noisy and with direct view to the fresh fish, oysters and food preparation. Full restaurant as expected but we got a nice table - and a very nice waiter, who explained what we could get. We had oysters, various fish, mussels and all of us were satisfied with the food, quality and price. Thanks Wright Brothers - we will be back.

“Need to Book”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

This is a great fish restaurant with a great selection of eclectic dishes. Had a lunch with some business colleagues. Sort of communal seating and still had to book and ended up with 2 others sitting at the end of our reserved table as the staff sought to accommodate as many diners as possible. I had soup starter and a shrimp main course - my colleagues had oysters. All were very happy with the service and standard of the plates.

“OK food Uncomfortable seating”
Reviewed March 26, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Visited for a friend's birthday. The seating arrangements are more like a pub. We had stool next to a long table. My stool (and my friend's) had backs but our husbands stools had no backs and so were quite uncomfortable.
The food was good but nothing special. Very expensive for what we had and the uncomfortable surroundings.
Wouldn't return.

“Right on”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

What is great about Wright Brothers is one can do the shop at Borough and finish up with wonderfully sweet and fresh oysters for lunch and some lovely white wines or champagne. On this visit I chose sole and shrimps with dill and cucumber as a main course which was delightfully fresh and served with tiny waxy new potatoes. Everything is prepared just right, never overcooked and the service is charming.

My only issue with the place is the cramped seating conditions and the badly designed bar top which doesn't have an overhanging edge so where to put one's legs? This means leaning forward with said limbs to the side, however, it is still worth it. I should add, we didn't reserve this time and so ended up with the most difficult of seating.
